Regarding Jack Casey; as I recall, in Human Torch Comics#3, they introduced a journalist associate of the Human Torch called Casey. Later in the Handbooks and elsewhere, they have taken to identifying him with Jack Casey, the photographer in prose stories by George Harmon Coxe, as well as an Atlas s...

Re: What are the next three books to be indexed?

It also ties into the Ghost Rider and Wolverine movies slated for 2012, as well as the recent relaunches of Punisher. -Jeph! Don Pendleton should receive thanks for the first issue, due the acknowledged influence of the Executioner. (Walter Gibson, to a lesser degree, as well, for the acknowledged ...

Re: Avengers: The Origin

With the Marvel Universe perpetually held at a span of 12-15 years, such retellings with the timeframe shifted more recent are going to keep happening. It all depends on which suspension of disbelief you want to go with, that the modern-day Marvel Universe's starting point was in the Clinton era in...

Re: Cap/Patriot question

One should note, though, that the stories themselves as published refer to him as Steve Rogers by name. Did they ever explain that the government decided to cover for Steve Rogers in case he managed to resurface soon after his disappearance? (Of course, that 1950's impostor filled some of the gap.)

Re: Namor Annual 1

This came up once. The first story in the issue featured a fb to the "last days of World War II". Since the State Shinto Militarists held on till August or September of 1945, hypothetically that scene may have taken place then.

When did Namor first fly?

Did he unambiguously have the power of flight from the start (i.e. MPFW#1)?

Per Incredible Hulk Annual#15, Mephisto briefly restored the Abomination in time for him to appear in Secret Wars II#7. Mephisto recruited a few outlaws to join the Legion Accursed, recruiting them to destroy the Beyonder (the terms of the pacts did not entail indefinite slavery to Mephisto-the Jugg...

Re: Flashback in Moon Knight #20

Does Moon Knight wear armor in the fb? Any mention of the Shadow Cabinet? If you remember how writers and artists handled Moon Knight in the early 1990's, some people felt that the Moon Knight concept ended up unnecessarily "Batman-ized" after the release of the 1989 Batman film; Moon Knig...

Re: The High Evolutionary

Quick question; in the annual where Magda first sees one of the New Men, a hooded figure appears behind her. Has anyone identified this figure? Also, the unnamed benefactor of Wyndham (the one who gave him the DNA code) also appears in a flashback in Alexandria in Quicksilver#9. Doctor Strange III#2...

Marvel Noir

Very interesting, these Noir projects (see solicitation below). They have effectively somewhat turned the Webslinger back into his inspiration, the Spider. These Noir books strike me as similar to DC's Elseworlds in that they have backdated properties to before the properties started publication. It...
