Re: X-Men: Grand Design v1 #1

Also, Manhattan was an uninhabited wasteland for over a decade (!) following the Human Torch/Sub-Mariner fight.

Re: and then… CONAN

Well, Star Wars has been a sales juggernaut for Marvel. It shouldn't be a surprise that they may be expanding this part of their business. And yet, I'm still surprised. I wonder if they'll tie this to the old Marvel Conan continuity, or just have a fresh start and stick it in its own universe?...

and then… CONAN

This caught me completely by surprise.

What's next? GI Joe? ROM? Micronauts? Godzilla?

Re: Who's read it all?

And besides, it's his book. He can set whatever parameters he wants!

Just wondering, are you reading physical paper comics or online? I prefer paper, myself...

Re: Who's read it all?

I've read a good healthy percentage of it. I only just filled in my Micronauts and ROM collections this past year (ROM over the summer, Micronauts from Santa Claus), but haven't read any of them yet. I've been sitting on Runaways for yoinks. I still haven't filled in my Power Man & Iron Fist or Moon...

Re: Henry Kissinger in SVTU

It's been a crazy holiday season, and we've fallen behind on a number of things. But don't worry! One of the New Year resolutions is to get caught up. :)

Thanks! And thanks for being patient with us.

Re: what are your Marvel firsts?

Neat! Keep 'em coming, people! :) I know people that were first introduced to Marvel through the '90s X-Men cartoon and found their way to the comics (mostly guys), and I know other people who were introduced through the movies and found their way to the comics (mostly gals). I know one guy who came...

what are your Marvel firsts?

Russ got me thinking about Marvel firsts so I figured, "Hey, I should start a topic about that." 8-) I learned how to read from Spider-Man comics (for the most part. I mean, I went to school, obviously, but Spider-Man helped), but I couldn't tell you which comics. Were they Spidey Super Stories? Am...

Re: any favorite Captain America stories?

I've always liked that one, too. There's some great mind-swap stuff in there. Speaking of Cosmic Cubes, Cap Annual #7 isn't exactly great but I like it (it reveals the Cubes are pre-sentient creatures, basically Beyonder eggs). Generally I like Cosmic Cube stories, and one of my favorites was in Cap...

Re: any favorite Captain America stories?

Re: vanhornluke I agree; Marvels Project is good stuff. :yepp: I hadn't heard of this Questar thing. I'll have to check it out some day. Re: MarvelBoy2002 The Brubaker/Winter Soldier stuff is fantastic. Another favorite of mine is Cap #169-175, the Secret Empire story (I still haven't rea...

Hey now, StrayLamb.

You're pointing out good stuff. If something looks wrong we WANT you to say something. Even if it can be explained, there's nothing wrong with bringing it up for discussion.

You're doing great, keep it up!

Also, thanks Michael! :)

Re: any favorite Captain America stories?

Oh yeah, that's a good one. I'm a big fan of the Stern/Byrne run as a whole. :) Another favorite of mine is Cap #193 (well really, this whole Kirby Returns run, but especially this issue): The Madbomb is a device that instead of causing physical destruction from its explosion, it causes madness and ...

any favorite Captain America stories?

I'm super behind on my reading, but I did skip ahead and read Captain America #695. I thought it was great, and it reminded me why Cap is one of my favorite characters. Cap #695 does a good job of laying out who Cap is, what his motivations are and what makes him work as a character. If anyone's eve...

Re: It's happening!

:yepp: Pretty exciting. There seems to be some confusion over what happened with the studio lots/real estate, but it ended up going for 52.4 BILLION dollars (valued at 66.1 billion) (also, all in stock, no cash). I wonder how long before they announce their movie phase four plans? The word on the s...
