Avengers: Roll Call

This upcoming AVENGERS: ROLL CALL one-shot is a Handbook so that means that I'll probably be buying a copy. However, I'm concerned by the fact that the solicitation mentions "updates on the stars of the movie." I'm only interested in the "comic book" Avengers and I don't want to end up with somethin...

Elder questions

I've taken an interest in the Elders of the Universe lately and have been gathering information about their appearances. In checking the MCP for their listings, I find myself with two comments and two questions. 1. Matani, the Collector's deceased wife, has a listing on the MCP but it contains two o...

Re: One-Above-All

Does anyone know the first appearance or first mention of the entity One-Above-All (the master of the Living Tribunal, not the Celestial leader of the same name), or any actual appearances for that matter? I am looking for any reference to the character specifically named One-Above-All, not other o...

Re: Captain America Corps

Roger Stern recently confirmed on ComicBookResources that this was the 616 Superia Sorry, I guess I didn't explain my question clearly. I did understand that this was the Superia from Earth-616 but it is the world in which she created the Americommand that puzzles me. Specifically, was it an altere...

Re: Captain America Corps

The idea that Roger Stern was using this miniseries to (in part) explain how Superia turned up alive in a recent New Avengers storyline after being killed by the Red Skull years ago did not occur to me. Frankly, I had completely forgotten that she had supposedly died. Even if I had remembered I woul...

Re: Hand and Hydra in W2 #126-128?

Unless you count the Skrull who was previously known as the Sensational Hydra, then yes, there are no HYDRA agents in Captain America #7 (July, 1998).

Re: Captain America and Bucky 622

10-20 Poland Early 42 Bucky traces missing Invaders to Arnim Zola who creates an ubermensch having the powers of the Invaders. Bucky manages to free the Invaders. This is probably just a bit of nitpicking on my part but the "Mr. Mad Scientist" who appears in the early 1942 scenes in Poland on pages...

Re: Giant-Size Defenders #3

I just got asked why we currently have Giant-Size Defenders #3 placed after Defenders #21, rather than after #19 (which is when it was published). I don't know enough about the Defenders to answer this question. Does anyone know? -Jeph! Valkyrie left the Defenders to find out about her life as Barb...

Re: Cosmic Cube(s) listings?

Okay, a few more comics to add to the KUBIK listings. First, when I suggested that the Cube should be listed as BTS for all of Wunadarr's appearances between M/TIO 42 and 57, I forgot to include M/TIO 53 - BTS. It should go immediately before M/TIO 54 - BTS. Second, in Captain Marvel #27, Thanos arr...

Re: Cosmic Cube(s) listings?

Thanks for the chronologies. Here are my (attempts at) answers to your questions. 1. Unfortunately, I can't find my copies of Sub-Mariner #47-49 at the moment. However, I did come across issue #46 which sparked my memory of events in those issues. Modok has the Cosmic Cube but doesn't (or can't) use...

Re: Cosmic Cube(s) listings?

What issues of M/TIO #53-58 does the Cube appear in? All of them? Actually, between M/TIO 43 and CA@ 7, the Cosmic Cube appears in two different storylines set at Project: Pegasus. Here's the information I've put together about the "Pegasus Project" storyline in M/TIO #53-58. Also, at one point it ...

Cosmic Cube(s) listings?

I was looking for a list of all of the issues in which the Cosmic Cube appeared but was surprised to find that the MCP doesn't have such a list. Kubik, the being into whom the Cube matured, is listed but his entry only starts with DEF 150. I realize that the MCP only provides listings for characters...

Re: Two-Gun Kid's recent appearances

The idea that time travel ALWAYS caused divergent timelines was part of Marvel's official rules of time travel which were developed and put in place by the late, great Mark Gruenwald. Sadly, in the years since Mr. Gruenwald's death these rules have been increasingly ignored by various writers. Howev...

Re: Captain America: The Fighting Avenger #1

It was intended to be a sister-project to Thor: The Mighty Avenger. After that was cancelled, it was cut down - initially to a mini, ultimately to a one-shot. Okay, Thor: The Mighty Avenger was a more kid-friendly take on the Odinson's adventures which was set in its own universe. So the Fighting A...
