Re: Richard Nixon and CA 175

But... with the sliding timescale, wouldn't it no longer be Nixon who was "behind the scenes" in those issues, but a more recent president? Cap #600 reveals that (assuming that the present day is the present in the Marvel Universe) Bill Clinton was president when Captain America FIRST join...

Re: Continuity error in Web of Spider-Man 3

Nice work! I just checked the scenes in question and they work together fairly well when viewed in that order. Even the different depictions of the Rhino turning against his employers- which I thought were completely contradictory- fit together almost seamlessly that way, aside from some minor hiccu...

Just wondering if any has any more information or ideas on this.

Continuity error in Web of Spider-Man 3

At the climax of the main story, the Rhino rebels against the scientists who created him and kills them. Now, I didn't think this was a continuity error at first, since the Rhino's original origin story made it fairly vague whether or not they survived- in ASM 43, the last we see of them is when the...

They even acknowledge it on the letters page of that same issue...

Ah, didn't notice that before! I'm glad they acknowledged it, at least.

Re: Thunderbolts, prior to Secret Invasion

If Bullseye is specifically referenced as still being in a coma during Breaking Point, then it definitely has to take place between 115 and 116, regardless of Moonstone's injuries. Could the other two specials, the Penance limited series, and maybe even the Thunderbolts' guest appearances in Moon Kn...

Re: "Bar With No Name" assistance, please.

I still don't get how the situation could make sense. The last time Dr. Strange's mansion was seen, it was at least partially destroyed (not the biggest problem on its own) and SHIELD finally had proof that it had been used as a hideout for unregistered heroes. Wouldn't that make it an incredibly ri...

Re: Ray Donovan

I had assumed that he was from Roger Stern's run on ASM. I suppose he could just be a completely new character, but it seems odd considering that Peter claims to have known him.

Re: FBs in ASM 608

Kaine's degeneration isn't much of an indicator: In the flashbacks, he looks exactly the same way he looked throughout The Lost Years, but that's also how he's been portrayed in the present day scenes. (His degeneration looked much worse in the flashback story in Web of Spider-Man, set during his ti...

Thunderbolts, prior to Secret Invasion

I've just been starting to read Thunderbolts, starting with Ellis' run, and I was curious: Does anyone know where the four Thunderbolts specials (Desperate Measures, Breaking Point, International Incident, and Reason in Madness) and the Penance limited series fit into continuity, in relation to Thun...

Re: Please help me figure out how this makes sense!!!

What about the Sanctum Sanctorum itself? Has it been seen at all since the NA Annual, aside from in ASM 555? The end of the NA Annual seemed to imply that the Sanctum was at least partially destroyed, and that SHIELD was now aware that it was the New Avengers' meeting place. Did that change at any p...

Re: UTSM '97/2 ???

Just because a story is silly doesn't mean it isn't canon, as far as I can tell. I mean, most issues of Deadpool are still canon. Exactly what is it about this story in particular that makes it seem like it shouldn't be part of continuity?

Re: Please help me figure out how this makes sense!!!

You're remembering right (it's not until the next SM appearance in NA following the Annual that the BND status quo is enforced there). Actually, I don't recall if we ever resolved that one. (I wanted to ignore OMD and preserve the shift in Dr Strange's status quo, and Paul B wanted to do the opposi...

Re: Please help me figure out how this makes sense!!!

Between pages 18 & 19 of New Avengers #37. That works. Just out of curiousity, though, any reason the gap couldn't take place between pages 2 and 3 of the NA Annual? The difference would be that the Hood would be holding off on attacking the New Avengers after he broke out his allies, as oppose...
