Re: CAPTAIN UNIVERSE!
From the most recent Handbook entry on Captain Universe, which is in the recently released "Captain Universe: the Hero Who Could be YOU!" collection, the very first line of text: Captain Universe is the identity assumed by each of the hundreds of beings who have been empowered by the Uni-P...

Re: Naming conventions
A similar thing happened with Kang. After his original stint as Rama-Tut, he later took a temporary "vacation" as Rama-Tut: KANG THE CONQUEROR … FF@ 27 AVF 9-FB GSA 2-FB (as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) WCA 20 (as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) GSA 2-FB (as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) A 129 (as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) GSA 2 (as ...

Re: Naming conventions
Again, it's not "my" way, it's the MCP's way. Or at least it has been since I've been coming here (which is over eight years now). I just happen to agree with it. Yes, it's been inconsistent. What I'm saying is let's take something we've been doing (for Hank Pym, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, both ...

missing Dr. Evan Swann appearance
Oh no! We're missing an appearance by ESU professor Dr. Evan Swann! In the second story in Web of Spider-Man Annual #5 (which is not in the MCP at all [the second story, that is, not the entire Annual]), Dr. Evan Swann is empowered by the Uni-Power and becomes CAPTAIN UNIVERSE ! The Quantum Mechanic...

Re: Naming conventions
Ah, but the "current" code name for the MCP isn't always what the actual current code name for the character is. For the MCP, the current code name for Hank Pym is Wasp; we haven't added any comics where he's already resumed being Giant-Man yet. And I'm sure at some point, he'll stop being...

Re: Naming conventions
Oh, wow. I forgot about Psyche. :) Pick one codename for each character. Then for the other codenames, just put "see [main codename]" and a direct link to the main one. But which code name? Do we REALLY want to list all of Hank Pym's appearances under Yellowjacket (or any one of them, real...

Re: Naming conventions
Also, Angel/Archangel. And I'm sure we'll sort out Major Victory and Aleta whenever we get around to adding Guardians of the Galaxy to the MCP. Marvel Boy/Justice was introduced as Vance Astrovik first, then adopted the name Marvel Boy, then became Justice. I think his chronology should be split bet...

Re: Naming conventions
That's one of the things we've been slowly, quietly updating the MCP on as we go through the recent Index series. USAGENT/JOHN WALKER used to have all of his appearances listed under USAgent, but now his chronologies are split between his various identities (Super-Patriot, Captain America and USAgen...

Re: Recent article about the Sliding Timescale
Well, it's clearly Jimmy Carter there, just like it's clearly Richard Nixon in Cap #144 and it's clearly Bush Jr. talking about his father, Bush Sr., a previous president, in Cap Annual 2001. I've considered suggesting we create a POTUS listing at the MCP (making one listing by combining all the pre...

Re: Vance Astrovik/Vance Astro
So should Major Victory have Vance Astrovik as his real name and "Vance Astro" in quotes as an alias?

Vance Astrovik/Vance Astro
Major Victory (Vance Astro) is a future version of Justice (Vance Astrovik), right?
So why are their last names different? Did Major Victory shorten it or something?

Re: Cable's future
The Handbooks say he is. Cable is from "now" (or the recent past, but you get the point), travelled to the future, stayed there for a while, then came back. Cable's point of origin is the present. Stryfe *started* in the future, that's where he was born/created. He then travelled to the pa...

So she's native to (then) present-day 616. Sweet.
