Re: and then… CONAN
It's things like this that keep my hope alive for that John Carter/Gullivar Jones one-shot I just know is coming! :yepp: Already happened, just not at Marvel. https://beforeamazing.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/tumblr_m0697bc9lt1qc8b0ao1_1280.jpg https://booksnfilm.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/erb-com...

Re: Who's read it all?
The rule I've made, for my purposes, is that if the 616 Peter Parker could reasonably appear in a story (whether or not he does), then it counts, and otherwise it's optional. So Conan no, I'll remind you that Peter has met Red Sonja in the present and time-travelled back to meet Kull, so ...

Re: the 'NAM!
Frank fought in the last notable conflict the U.S. was in. Whichever one that might be at any given time. Or, if there's ever a long enough real world peace, Frank fought in Sin Cong / A.N. Other generic South East Asian conflict.

Re: the 'NAM!
As I currently understand it, there's the historic Vietnam, and then there's a "Southeast Asian Conflict" (or somesuch) that happened around comics published in the late '60s/early '70s. Pretty much - probably a war with Communist holdout Sin Cong. That second one is the one Flash Thompso...

Re: the 'NAM!
Huh. And yet, Punisher's the 'Nam appearances are noted in all relevant chronologies in that Index, AND in the "Before Punisher #1" piece at the start of the book. How can the 'Nam both "count" and "not count"? Heck, one of those the 'Nam comics explains/straightens ou...

Also this Spider-Man http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix4/earthspiderceleb.htm Spider-Verse (2014) #2/5, panel 1, top right, next to Hulk-Spider-Man's shoulder, and again in the last panel of the story, top left. There's also the dodgy Turkish Spiderman. And the married Spider-Man is presumably the &q...

Re: Text Stories in Marvel Mystery Comics #21-24
then HTC 2 and the training involved, and then Dunkirk could happen. And then for some reason, Jim just doesn't take Toro with him anywhere for M/MC 12 (or 13) through M/MC 17. Hypothesis to explain why this might be fine: Toro is training, but Torch feels he isn't ready for going out into the fiel...

Re: Text Stories in Marvel Mystery Comics #21-24
I don't recall: does the story in M/MC 17 explicitly say that it's the first time Torch and Namor team up? If so, that would be ignoring lines of dialogue in multiple stories, not just one. a) I'd rather ignore a few lines of dialogue, even if it is in more than one story, than create a second Dunk...

Re: Text Stories in Marvel Mystery Comics #21-24
The problem isn't so much Torch and Toro working together, but Namor and the Torch. It's Namor who comments about working with the Torch "again," seemingly requiring this to take place after M/MC 17. Yes, sorry, I actually got that, and when I said The dialogue about them "teaming up...

Re: Text Stories in Marvel Mystery Comics #21-24
Re: #22 Marvel Mystery Comics #7 is dated May 1940. Toro didn't start hanging out with Jim until at best between M/MC 17-18. And no, there's no way to take M/MC 17 out of order and place it earlier (Sub-Mariner had pretty tight continuity back then, as stories often continued into each other, and r...
