Re: "To me, my X-Men" -- where was it said?
I recall it being spoofed by Pete Wisdom during Ellis's run on Excalibur, so it must have been pretty well established by then.

At the very least, he'll be back in time for The First Avenger: Captain America, which is theoretically due for release in 2011.Paul Bourcier wrote:Probably too early for S.R. to return as one might expect from such a monumental milestone, but, hey, wanna bet he's coming back next year on the 60th anniversary?

Re: About The New Official Index
Lastly, I noticed that Adventures of Captain America was listed in the notes section of the Tales of Suspense #63. Wasn't that a mini-series that was retroactively declared non-canon/out-of-continuity? If so, why is it listed? The series was referenced in an issue of Captain America a few years ago...

I'm guessing it's from a random pre-Silver Age Atlas/Timely sci-fi comic.

Re: Captain America basics
Also, if anyone can recommend any other must-have Cap stories let me know. Looking more for non-Avengers stuff (already got some of that) and preferably stories collected in tpb. My personal recommendations are Mark Gruenwald's early run (from #307 at least through #350), the first Waid/Garney run ...

Re: i know it's not Marvel, but, The Dark Knight?
I'm pretty sure that when Batman: LOTDK came out they actually said those would be out-of-continuity tales (unlike the Star Wars Tales comics which were retroactively declared "Infinities" stories.) Did the opposite happen in the Batman case with the title eventually being absorbed into (...

To be fair, Hawkeye was standing several yards away at the time, never got any closer than that after he was shot, and isn't exactly a trained medical professional. His reaction was basically "The Orb's been shot, he must be dead, I'd better run or I'm dead, too!"

That was the modern-day Earth-616 Luther Manning, not the original future-timeline Manning.Col_Fury wrote:There was something about a second Luther Manning in the DLOK2 issues, but he was created by the villain of the story... through time travel or something.

The Fantastic Four are Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Flo Steinberg, and someone else. I remember this from someplace… the Assistant Editor’s month issue of What If…?, maybe? Or What The…!?!? What If vol. 1 #11, "What If The Marvel Bullpen Became The Fantastic Four?" The 'someone else' is Sol Brod...

Re: Hulk: Raging Thunder #1
Wait - doesn't Thundra eventually marry Arkon and move to his world? (last shown in JLA/Av #1, IIRC.) How does that fit with this? If the deception reference is to FF 151-153, maybe this story fits somewhere in the middle of Thundra's chronology, before she marries Arkon and leaves. (And before her...

Re: Alternate Universe Checklist questions
Arguably, Exiles #75, which is included in the main checklist should also appear on the 2099 checklist since at least the very beginning of the story occurs in the original 2099 universe before diverging into an alternate 2099. That's one of my questions. At what point does it diverge? And was that...

Re: the TWELVE 1
There is some "soft" evidence that the Miss Fury comic may be Earth-616 -- like the fact that Timely did publish it, and nothing about the stories conflicts with Earth-616 cosmology (AFAIK). But I think all that soft evidence is wiped out by the fact that it was a licensed title, and the ...

According to the author, Nightside takes place in the Marvel Universe. Is that claim contradicted somewhere?
