Post by DonCampbell »

The Demon Rider (Kushala + Spirit of Vengeance) – also in multiple flashbacks to her past life (including her meeting with Merlin)
Kushala (alone) – only in flashback to her origin story
U.S. Army soldiers who massacred Kushala’s tribe – only alive in flashback
spirits of the soldiers who massacred Kushala’s tribe – also in flashbacks
members of Kushala’s tribe (none named) – all killed in flashback
Kushala’s father (run down by soldiers’ horses) – only in flashback
Kushala’s mother (as a dead body) – only in flashback

Doctor Stephen Strange
Wiccan (Billy Kaplan)
The Mindful One
The Conjuror (Nina)
Sir Isaac Newton
Yao (the young man who will become the Ancient One)

inhabitants of the castle (only Lord Vall named) – bodies whose souls are wandering
creatures from the forest – the (rotting) spirits of the people from the castle – later returned to their proper bodies

The Forgotten – revealed to be all of the dozens of the magicians locked away by Merlin existing in one single body (only Phoyu was named after being killed)
The Demon Rider’s flaming phantom horse

Merlin – only in flashback to his meeting with Kushala

Note #1: Kushala’s origin, her history and her recruitment by Merlin is told through flashbacks that bookend this story. After re-examining the first two issues, it seems that, contrary to what I wrote, both scenes set in 507 A.D. were flashbacks, instead of one non-flashback scene which led into a flashback. The story of how Wiccan first encountered Merlin in the future may also be entirely flashback in nature.

Note #2: This series ended with issue #12 and character watches for issues #4-10 have already been done by Jason Doty.
