Nightcrawler #1-4 vs Uncanny X-Men #194-202

Nightcrawler #1-4 was published in Sept-Dec 1985. That's the same months as Uncanny X-Men #199-202.

But the MCP has the miniseries occurring between Uncanny X-Men #194-195.

I'm not seeing any specific chronological reason for placing it there. Where did we get this placement?

It is probably from The Official Marvel Index To The X-Men, vol. 2 #4.
On page 9, for Uncanny #194, it lists Nightcrawler and Shadowcat as appearing next in Nightcrawler #1-4

Thanks. Does anyone know if there's an actual chronology reason for that?

When it comes to the Nightcrawler mini-series there is not exactly an abundance of chronological references.

It's basically just Dave Cockrum saying 'Yeah, you remember Kitty's Fairy Tale. Yeah, you do? GOOD, BECAUSE IT WAS MY IDEA, NOT CLAREMONT'S, MINE! LOOK AT ME I'M GONNA WRITE A MINI-SERIES TO PROVE IT!'

Most of it takes place in the dimension Kitty inadvertantly creates in Kitty's Fairy Tale (UXM 153), so can basically just go wherever it fits.
