Excalibur and X 8

We have an inconsistent placement regarding X 8 and the Excalibur series. We have Jean's and Professor X's appearances in Excalibur 51-52 placed after X 8. However, we have Nightcrawler's appearances in Marvel Comics Presents 101-108 placed AFTER Excalibur 54 for Nightcrawler but before X 8 for Wolverine. So Excalibur 54 takes place before Excalibur 51? Note that Marvel Comics Presents 101-108 should take place immediately after X 7, since Logan finds out where Kurt is at the end of X 7.
