The main story in these issues is set in the current day, but there are a handful of flashbacks here:

CA&BUCKY 625 (1 - 3:2)-FB
1945: President Truman asks William Naslund and Fred Davis Jr. to be the new Captain America and Bucky (expands WI? 4 & CA 215-FB).
CA&BUCKY 625 (9:5 - 11:2)-FB
1946: William Naslund dies fighting Adam II (repeats WI? 4, no new information).
CA&BUCKY 625 (14 - 16)-FB
1945: The new Cap and Bucky prepare to meet the Invaders (expands WI? 4).

CA&BUCKY 626 (1 - 2)-FB
WWII: The Invaders fight Nazi zombies (all new!).

CA&BUCKY 627 (1 - 3)-FB
1946: Sad that Cap is dead, Bucky yells at the Torch for not being human, but rather “just” a robot (aftermath of WI? 4).

CA&BUCKY 628 (1 - 2)-FB
1949: Fred Davis drinks his troubles away (all new!).

Placement suggestions, with a bit of WI? 4 clean up:

I had a post here with explanations earlier in the thread: http://www.chronologyproject.com/phpbb2 ... 229#p37229

But I would revise it as follows:

Naslund chronology:

CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 53/3-FB (childhood memories)
INV 14
INV 15
CA5 4-FB (Spirit of '76 fighting on after Crusaders disband)
CA@ 13-FB (April 1945 mission with Cap & Patriot)
CA 215 (11:2 - 11:4)-FB (appointed as Cap)
CA & B 625 fb1 (Naslund & Davis wait for a meeting with Truman to be appointed as replacements) (Davis with blond hair)
The Twelve 1 (Cap & Bucky in Berlin on April 25, 1945) (Bucky with brown hair)

CA & B 625 fb3 May 1945 (Cap & Bucky behind the door about to be officially presented) (Bucky with blond hair)
WI 4 (12-14) (Cap & Bucky presented to the Invaders, team assigned to Pacific) (Bucky with blond hair)
CA@ 6 June 1945 (in the Pacific) An inexperienced Naslund transported to an alternate Earth to fight Adam II with three other Caps
WI 4 15 (Cap & Bucky vs Japanese soldiers) (Note: can take place any time before Japan's surrender)
Captain America Comics 49 Cover date Aug 45, events from June 45 (in the US)
Captain America Comics 49/3 (in the US)
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 49/4 (in the US)
USA COMICS 17 Cvr date Fall 1945 (in the US)
ALL-SELECT COMICS 9 Fall 1945 (in the US)
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 50 Cvr date Oct 45 (in the US?)
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 50/4 (in the US)
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 50/3 (in India)
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 51 cvr date Dec 45 (in the Pacific) Atom bomb just perfected (the Alamogordo test was on July 16)
N@ 1/3 Potsdam Conference (July 17-26)
CA & B 626 fb (Bucky with Captain America, Namor, Human Torch vs Nazi scientist and zombies) (Note: I place it during the Potsdam conference while Cap is in Germany as bodyguard. Since Truman assigned the Invaders to the Pacific in WI 4, it made little sense to place it between Hitler's death and VE-Day. Alternately, if this took place earlier while the war was still going on in Europe that would mean Naslund didn't follow Truman's order.)

CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS 51/5 (in the Pacific)
WI?4 (17) panels 4-5 Invaders renamed All-Winners Squad (after Sept 2 1945)
SAGASM 5 p20 panel 3 Sub-Mariner takes a LOA from the All-Winners Squad (right after the previous sequence)

Fred Davis chronology:
M/PRM 30

Note: The story in The Twelve 1 is now in the middle of the selection process for the two replacement heroes. It also places the Invaders alongside their replacements in Berlin but find out about it later. This needs a fuller overview of all stories set in that period and possibly to override dates given in the stories.
