Wolverine (Vol. 3) 50-55

Post by PunyBanner »

Can anyone explain why there is a pretty big break between issues 51 and 52? Issues 50-55 is one continuous story. Wolverine, Storm, and Sabretooth are in Wakanda at the end of 51 and still there at the beginning of 52. No mention of a time gap.

Sabretooth is living in the X-Mansion in W3 50. Sabretooth leaves the X-Men in X2 199 (he betrays the team, etc.). Sabretooth gets his head chopped off in W3 53.

Sabretooth can't betray the X-Men, and then later still be living in the X-Mansion. That means W3 50 has to be before X2 195-199. Sabretooth has to still have a head on his shoulders to betray the team, so X2 195-199 (and C&DP 41) has to happen before W3 53.

So, looking at Sabretooth's chronology:

X2 193
W3 50 (still with the X-Men, living in the Mansion)
W3 51
X2 195-FB
X2 196
X2 197
X2 198
X2 199 (betrays the team, leaves the X-Men)
C&DP 41
W3 52
W3 53 (dies)
[W2 310]

No, there's no apparent break in W3 50-55 to accommodate X2 195-199, but it has to go somewhere. Punching a giant hole in W3 50-55 was the only solution that solved all the problems that we could find.

Ah, I see. It sucks when a story has to be weirdly interrupted like that but I guess there was no other option. Thanks for the explanation :)
