The whole sequence in question from MA 19 can be seen here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... disp=table

Does this seem, uh, completely irreconcilable with SI:WDYT/4 (the Zeb Wells story which ALSO shows Noh-Varr's control over the Cube being broken by the skrull virus, but also includes a confrontation with a skrull, NV being present when it all goes to hell rather than in a separate room and nothing about Skrull-Vell) to anyone else ?

First, there's got to be a big gap between panels 5 and 6 of page 4 of MA 19. Noh-Varr must see the TV coverage of Mar-Vell's return right after Civil War and he immediately thinks about what this news means for him. His thoughts at this point cannot be interrupted by the Skrull virus, since that doesn't happen until Secret Invasion. There's a lot of time between Civil War and Secret Invasion, so the way Bendis wrote this series of pages in MA 19 makes no sense without the gap. Yikes, Bendis...

That gap might help reconcile Noh-Varr's conflicting situations once the Skrull virus hits in SECINV:WDYT 1/4 and MA 19. I have a solution: treat MA 19 (1-4:5) as a flashback (given the gap), then place MA 19 (4:6-5) right after SECINV:WDYT 1/4.

SECRET INVASION: WHO DO YOU TRUST #1/4
Noh-Varr forces the warden of the Cube to report to Hill that everything is fine. Noh-Varr surveys the effect his Omniwave has on the prisoners, but then the wave goes down and he encounters a Skrull who kills the warden. The Skrull tells him that his race will liberate the planet before Noh-Varr kills him.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #19 (4:6-5)
As the virus detection alarm continues, Noh-Varr observes another riot scene in the Cube and decides it’s time to go. (The "what's this now?" thought is not one of surprise but one of "crap, more chaos...gimme a break.")

Does that work for you, Somebody?

Depends if by that you mean "Do you see a better alternative?", to which the answer is "no."

Geographically, it's hopelessly screwed (he flew up many levels from the congregation scene, and the room he walks out of exits into a corridor, and it relies on him being hopelessly slow to react to a riot he already knows is happening all through the building with surprise.

But, as I say, it's as good an option as we're going to get.
