X-Men: Legacy #222 flashbacks

Does anyone have a handle on the flashbacks shown in X 222, especially the one on the first couple of pages? Is there new material in these flashbacks, and if so, where do they go? Any help for you X-perts among us would be appreciated.

The Rogue-Beast flashback has to take place sometime between X-Men/Alpha Flight 1 and X-Factor 1. We first see the costume Rogue is wearing in X-Men 193 but its chronologically earliest appearance is in X-Men/Alpha Flight 1. In X-Factor 1, the original 5 X-Men effectively decide to break off all contact with the X-Men. Beast wasn't a member of the X-Men during this time period. He was a member of the Defenders during most of this time period. He must have been called in to help with Rogue. Incidentally, the school was called Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters at this point, not the Xavier Academy like it says in the flashback. Also, Rogue and Beast seem too chummy, considering that they hardly know each other at this point. Rogue should be more apologetic- Carol was Hank's friend.
