Kraven the Hunter in X-Men & Spider-Man #1

I'm trying to figure out where Kraven's appearance in X-Men & Spider-Man #1 goes. Given that the issue is "a few days after UX #66", it's probably before Kraven's appearance in "Hidden Years" #16 (which is a week or so after UX #66). Kraven's chronology during this period is:

ASM 49
ASM '96-FB
X:HY 16

So -- where would X&SM #1 fall?

You're probably right, Jeph. The flashback portions of ASM '96 take place before WTS 4-6, which (according to the Human Torch's chronology) precede X:HY 7-9 (and by extension X:HY 16). So if ASM '96 and WTS 4-6 take place prior to X:HY 7-9 and UX 66 precedes X&SM 1, it would make sense that X&SM 1 would fall right before X:HY 16 in Kraven's chronology.

EDIT: Whoa, just looked at this a second time, since (according to the Hulk's chronology) UX 66 directly precedes SMF2 9, which itself is sandwiched between ASM 80 and 81, and the ASM '96 flashback immediately follows ASM 87, it might be better to place X&SM 1 before the ASM '96 flashback, if in fact X&SM takes place within days of UX 66.

The chronology I have for Kraven is:
...
ASM 49
XM&SM 1
SM/HT 2
ASM@ '96-FB
X:HY 16
...

No one's mentioned SM/HT 2, which must occur between FF 94 and 95, given Crystal's presence and Sue's ability to go on a mission. It also should occur between ASM 80 and 81 given Flash's appearance here.

The one thing that doesn't fit with SM/HT 2 there is Harry Osborn is clean shaven. He doesn't shave his mustache (whatever it's called) until ASM 82. Flash doesn't actually leave until ASM 83. Is there some reason why it wouldn't fit in between these two issues of ASM?

As a matter of fact in SM/HT 2 Osborn mentions Flash will be shipping off soon and XM&SM 1 Flash says he is leaving in two days...wouldn't they both fit better between ASM 82 & 83 with SM/HT 2 before XM&SM 1 since "soon" seems to be longer than 1 or 2 days. Or does that mess up X-Men chrono? Am I missing something?

I guess we'll have to ignore John Byrne's caption that X:HY begins only 3 days after UX 66. Also fitting in that gap are the X-Men's appearances in FF:WGCM too.

The problem lies in that Kraven is a wanted criminal in SM/HT 2, while in XM&SM 1 he's fresh out of jail after a lengthy period incarcerated (and is pretending to be reformed at first). So XM&SM 1 really needs to occur first, if possible. I'm tempted to ignore the "two day" reference in XM&SM 1...

I would agree the that between ASM 82 and 83 is a good place for both XM&SM 1 and SM/HT 2 to occur...

EDIT: Speaking of XM&SM, Issue #3 is the only one of the mini-series that I don't own...Could someone please tell me where it goes in both Spidey and the X-Men's chronology?

Later,

Kevin
