Flashback in Captain America #170

Post by Paul Bourcier »

A few characters' chronologies need to be updated to reflect the flashback in CA 170, plus a couple of other things:

QUENTIN HARDERMAN
**CA 163-BTS** (on phone with Viper)
**CA 170-FB**
CA 169
...

MOONSTONE/LLOYD BLOCH
**CA 170-FB**
CA 169
...

VIPER/JORDON DIXON
...
CA 163
**CA 170-FB**
**CA 163**
[CA 169-BTS -- remove: Viper name-checked only, not truly bts]
[CA 170 -- remove: Viper only appears in FB]
CA 175
...

Viper's appearance in CA 170-FB should occur during the day-long gap in CA 163, after he launches a plan for a smear campaign against Cap and before he's captured by him.

Question: Where was the first Moonstone's real name, Lloyd Bloch, revealed?

He is called Lloyd Bloch in Captain America 379. The Official Handbook from 1983 and the Deluxe Edition from 1985 both refer to him as Byron Becton. I can't find any references to a real name in the old Captain America issues during the Secret Empire storyline, and I don't have Incredible Hulk #229 where he appears in a flashback.

So I would guess that the answer is Captain America 379.

Thanks, Peter. Moonstone is still unnamed in H2 229. It's interesting that two editions of the Handbook were ignored when the name "Lloyd Bloch" was given in CA 379 (1990).

Especially when they had Mark Gruenwald as Writer / Producer / Editor, and he wrote Cap 379
