Either I'm blind or this isn't in the MCP. Any idea where it goes?

Hotcharokey posted the following synopsis/character list describing the issue:
Mrrungo-Mu and the Enslavers invade the Earth and capture all of the Earth's heroes. In order to ensure his hold on the Earth, Mrrungo-Mu orders the strongest and most powerful heroes (Colossus, Doc Samson, the Hulk, Rogue, She-Hulk, the Sub-Mariner, the Thing, Thor, and Wolverine) be brought to him on board his spaceship and humbled before him. The Silver Surfer comes to the Earth's rescue, freeing the heroes and defeating the invaders. Grateful to the Silver Surfer, the X-Men (Professor Xavier, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus, and Rogue) and other heroes (Ajak, Black Bolt, the Black Knight, the Black Panther, Cannonball, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Crystal, Daredevil, Doc Samson, Dr. Strange, the Falcon, Gorgon, Hawkeye, Hercules, the Human Torch, Iceman, Ikaris, the Invisible Girl, Iron Fist, Iron Man, the Jack of Hearts, Medusa, Mr. Fantastic, Moon Knight, Powerman, Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch, Shaman, Shalla-Bal, She Hulk, Snowbird, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Starfox, the Sub-Mariner, the Thing, Triton, the Vision, and the Wasp) gather on top of the Baxter Building to thank him.
Published in 1990, but it looks to occur earlier -- at least by the X-Men-related clues I see: a standing Professor X and mohawk-Storm place this between UX #181-200, 1984-1985.

Notably, the Surfer is free -- the barrier around Earth doesn't imprison him. Does that work in 1985?!

He doesn't get out until SS3 1, dated July 1987...

Xavier left Earth in 1985, while the Surfer was still imprisoned on Earth. Storm dropped the mohawk in Uncanny 226, when Xavier was still in space. Storm's mohawk has to be an art error.

Xavier is (a) back on earth and (b) still walking between UX #277-278. However, Colossus is in the crowd of heroes in this GN too, and he was amnesiac at that time -- his memory restored *in* #278-279, part of the same adventure where Xavier lost his legs again. Craaaap. Plus everyone's in their 1985-era costumes.

Didn't Stan Lee write another Silver Surfer story that was later declared non-canon? This may have to go on that same pile.

I placed it between the pages of UX 192 after X-Men/Alpha Flight #2. At that time, Professor X is walking, Storm has a mohawk, and Cyclops has rejoined the X-Men.

The Silver Surfer appears in The Death of Captain Marvel Graphic Novel, which was published in 1982 and takes place between UX 153 and UX 154, which were also published in 1982. In the The Death of Captain Marvel Graphic Novel, the Silver Surfer joins the heroes on Titan to say goodbye to Captain Marvel, which means that he was able to leave the earth.

That was revealed to be a Skrull in Englehart's Silver Surfer run.

That doesn't work- the Hulk was stuck in the Crossroads back then. Plus we'd have to assume that the Doom that appears is a Doombot since the real Doom was between deaths at the time.
If it's the *Baxter Building* and not *4 Freedoms Plaza*, then that would have to be before FF 278.
Which Spider-Woman is it, Julia or Jessica?
Maybe the Surfer temporarily gained the ability to leave the Earth and then lost it for some reason.

In the end, he finds Shalla-Bal and leaves with her to soar the stars. How does that square with later comics?

On second thought, it has to be out of continuity. If the FF have their own headquarters, and aren't staying at Avengers Mansion, then it has to go before FF 278. But the Hulk is there, and not in the Crossroads, so it has to go before Hulk 300. But the Thing is there, and not on Battleworld, so it has to go before Secret Wars. But Spider-Woman is there- since the other heroes never met Julia before Secret Wars, so it would have to be Jessica. But if it was Jessica, it would have to take place before Spider-Woman 50. So we would have to try to see if we can squeeze it in after Starfox joined the Avengers but before Spider-Woman 50.

Wow, I did not know that.

The Surfer calls it the Baxter Building.

Spider-Woman is Julia Carpenter.

Spider-Woman is Julia Carpenter.
Then we either have to pull a Tigra, and say one of these characters isn't really there, or declare the Enslavers out of continuity. There's no spot where Julia knows the other heroes, and the Hulk and the Thing are available to appear before FF 278.
ETA: And we can't just assume that the Surfer *meant* 4 Freedoms Plaza either, since Snowbird appears and her body is changed into a duplicate of Sasquatch's body in Alpha Flight 68, so this story would have to take place before Alpha Flight 68- and that's while Professor X was in space.
ETA: Here's another problem- Ajak leaves Earth in A 248, and when he finally returns, he's turned into a monster and then dies. So this would have to take place before A 248. But that's impossible for reasons described above.

If Storm has a mohawk, is Cyclops in his X-Factor uniform or standard uniform pre-X-Factor?

That points to sometime before UX 201 then.
