Cable's real name

Post by JephYork »

When was Cable's first name revealed?

To be specific: I'm not asking when Cyclops' young son's name was revealed. That was UXM #239. I'm asking -- when was the first time the adult character of Cable was referred to as "Nathan"? This happened back before Cable was revealed to be Cyclops' son, but I'm having trouble placing it.

I don't know if Scott's son was called Nathan before Inferno. If he was, it was only by Maddie (aka Clairmont) in The Uncanny X-Men because he was always called Christopher by Scott in X-Factor (Louise Simonson).

Nope -- believe it or not, even though Scott's son was born in UXM #201, the writers never named him until UXM #239. Sad.

Marvel has a history of that. Franklin Richards first appears in Fantastic Four Annual #6 (November 1968), although he didn't receive his name until two years later in Fantastic Four #94 (January 1970).
