First chronological appearance of Peter Parker?

I'm wondering if there might be an earlier chronological appearance of Peter Parker than what is currently listed in the MCP.

The 2nd story of PPTSSM Annual #3 displays a scrap book put together by Aunt May. This "story" was written by Roger Stern and drawn by Marie Severin & John Romita. In the 4th panel (photo) shows an infant Peter Parker who "weighed in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces". Aunt May's text also states, "Our brand-new nephew...Peter!"

The first chronological appearance listed on the MCP is a flashback from Amazing Spider-Man Annual #5 where Pete's father Richard is bouncing him on his knee and he's already telling May & Ben that he and Mary are leaving overseas.

Does that photo (panel) count as an "appearance" and do you think it should come first? In which case the MCP for Spider-Man would be:

PPTSSM@ 3/2 (1:4)-FB
ASM@ 5 (11:2)-FB-FB
SM:PL (1)-FB.......etc.

What do you think? Thanks for listening to my ramblings. I had totally forgotten about this scrapbook so I got excited!

In Untold Tales of Spider-Man #-1 (1997), Mary Parker found out she was one month pregnant with Peter. The could perhaps be the earliest BTS appearance of him.

I *KNEW* someone was going to bring that up. I KNEW IT!

I should have put money on it.

I believe the short version is "the MCP doesn't chronologise characters until they're actually born" :)

[PS: Did we ever have a conversation about egg-born characters? ;)]

Hmm. Got an awkward one for you then, made more confusing by time-travel shenanigans. Valeria Richards was regressed back into the womb in FF #49(2002), and was reborn as an infant in FF #54 (2002). But in FF #50 (2002) Sue goes for a check-up, and uses her invisibility powers to make her tummy transparant, allowing those present to see infant Valeria in the womb; Val even opens her eyes and looks back at them. So she's in the womb, but she's also unquestionably making an appearance, not just BTS within a baby bump.

Well, there are exceptions. See, for instance, Charles Xavier's in utero battle with Cassandra Nova, also an actual appearance.

But as a rule, no, we don't give an embryo a bts appearance.
