Hulk ("Mr. Fixit") in M/CP 26/4

Post by intp »

I was just reading the "Atlantis Attacks" Omnibus and I had a question about Hulk. He appears in M/CP 26/4 as "Mr. Fixit" on a collection errand for Berengetti. The chron project currently states the following:

Hulk
..
H2 356
H2 357
H2 358
H2 359
M/CP 26/4
H2 360
...

This is also the order in which the stories are reprinted in the Peter David Visionaries book, v.4.

My question is, wouldn't it make more sense to place M/CP 26/4 between H2 356-357? The reason is that the Hulk is fired by Berengetti at the end of H2 358. His Fixit cover is completely blown not long thereafter, when even the Maggia learns that he's the Hulk (H2 361).

In H2 357, Glorian starts to manipulate Berengetti, making him distrust Hulk. This causes Berengetti to start to avoid Hulk (see H2 357 pp. 9-10, 18), probably until the end of H2 358.

It seems like between H2 356-357 would be a more natural fit for M/CP 26/4, when Hulk is still in Berengetti's good graces, and there is a fairly definite break in the story.

Of course, it's possible that Hulk in M/CP 26/4 is just collecting on a debt that he had learned about before, for his own personal gain and not for Berengetti, but Hulk had no idea if the guy would even have the money.

Or is there something I'm missing that precludes the story from occurring between H2 356-357?

I know this is a very minor point; it only occurred to me because I'm a major Hulk fan and have read the Peter David run many times.

Makes sense to me, intp. Plus M/CP 26 has a publication date August 1989, same as H2 358.

Are there any negatives to moving H2 357-359 after Atlantis Attacks?
