Secret Avengers vol. 2 #8 has a one-panel flashback showing the New Avengers battling ninjas. Wolverine, Ms. Marvel, Mockingbird, Luke Cage and Spider-Man are shown, and the ninjas have black and red outfits.

Is this a scene from a previously-published comic, or is it new information? If the former, which comic is it from?

I think that panel (1:2) is new. It has to occur after New Avengers: The Reunion #4, since Bobbi has the current costume she first donned in that series. And it should occur before New Avengers #55, since Wolverine is with the Avengers (before he headed back to San Francisco for the Utopia story). That's a pretty tight window.

True enough. Those five heroes were part of the lineup throughout the run of New Avengers v2. In that case, there's a bit more flexibility.

But it's still a new scene? Or does it match up to some ninja fight in New Avengers v2 that you hadn't noticed before?

I still believe it's a new scene. I searched my notes for the word "ninja," and none of the hits were for comics that featured those five heroes.

Could be placed about the time of Shadowland, when the ninjas of the Hand patrolled the streets around Hell's Kitchen?

Do you all suppose these are specifically Hand ninjas in the FB?
