NM 15

In New Mutants 15 Magik finds out that Kitty Pryde is held captive by the Hellfire Club's White Queen. She and the New Mutants travel by bus to the Massachusetts Academy to try and free Kitty. In UXM 182 Rogue comes back from Japan where the X-Men fought a dragon. She listens to the answering machine and hears Ms Marvel's former lover Michael Rossi is in problems. The "essence" of Ms. Marvel takes over and she flies away, before hearing a voice message of Illyana Rasputin who tells Professor X the New Mutants' plan to free Kitty. It's not an actual appearance, but a voice appearance. Illyana delivering the message is not on panel in NM 15. Best place is when the NM are in a bus terminal waiting for transfer. It's where Illyana could have called.
