NM 58

In New Mutants 58 the New Mutants have their hands full on Bird-Brain. Bird-Brain eats hamburgers and is immediately addicted. As he escapes the New Mutants go after him. At the burger place they decide to bring Bird-Brain back to his friends on on Monster Island. In Uncanny X-Men 225 Colossus phones Xavier's school to look for his sister Illyana. Illyana comes porting in and she brings Colossus to the X-Men in Dallas.
On panel there's nothing in NM 58 where Magik leaves to port Colossus to Dallas. The most convenient place (looking at costume and what's happening in the story) is when Bird-Brain escapes to get some more burgers at night. The New Mutants follow and then travel further to Monster Island. In between these two events, Illyana can port Colossus.
