NYCC bits and bobs...

Post by Somebody »

War of Kings panel: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=19891
There's an "online-exclusive miniseries" focusing on some characters in the lead-up to WoK. And the GotG #12 cover features a Death-inspired Phyla with no Quantum bands. Not much else new there.

X-Men panel: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=19897
Old Man Logan's ending is getting shoved off into a one-shot, since Millar & McNiven are running slow, so that the Wolverine title can be turned into Dark Wolverine Starring Daken, co-written by Daniel Way. [So, as rumoured, Wolverine: Weapon X is indeed an Invincible Iron Man-style overlapping-relaunch]. The original New Mutants are getting a new title. Oh, and Claremont's getting shoved even further into orbit without being made to retire, with "X-Men Forever" being a "What If Claremont Never Left After X-Men #3" title, and "GeNext United" being a sequel to the tremendously-successful-on-every-level-including-commercially GeNext. And finally, there's a Wolverine/Domino mini called X-Force: Sex and Violence. [I don't think there was a single announcement there that even interested me]

Dark Reign: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=19901
Paul Cornell & Mark Brooks are doing a Dark Reign: Young Avengers mini, pitting Young Avengers against Dark Young Avengers patterned after the original Masters of Evil. There were a few more mini announcements, including Jeff Parker & Kyle Hotz's Dark Reign: The Hood. Jonathan Hickman - already announced as the Dark Reign: F4 writer - is taking over the core Fantastic Four title whenever Millar & Hitch are finally finished, with Dale Eaglesham on art. Captain Britain & MI13 is still NOT cancelled.

[So, as rumoured, Wolverine: Weapon X is indeed an Invincible Iron Man-style overlapping-relaunch].
Thus assuring that I will be dropping the old "Wolverine" title in favor of the new one by Jason Aaron. Nothing against Daken or Daniel Way, but money's tight, and I know which Wolverine I'd rather follow...

Thanks for the comprehensive list, Somebody, sorting through all those stories on CBR is too time consuming! I'll just add on to it with the Mondo Marvel Panel from today, in which we learn about a "Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers" mini-series, and something called "the Marvels Project", which is another "Golden Age" era mini-series.
Keeping track of Bendis References since 2001!
