It's that time of the month again : Marvel has disclosed its releases planned for June 2010.

So for the solicitations at Newsarama, as usual : http://www.newsarama.com/comics/marvel- ... 00323.html
If you prefer Comic Book Resources, here you go : http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=25359
Or you could go directly to the Marvel website : http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?date=2010-06

Let's look at the highlights :

NEW SERIES

- NEW AVENGERS #1, by Bendis & Immonen. Apparently, this is going to be a "quirkier" book, with Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and the Thing on the roster (and probably Ms. Marvel too, as she's on the cover).

- AVENGERS ACADEMY #1, by Gage & McKone, features a team of apparently new characters (+ Reptil), with Hank Pym as headmaster and every Avenger ever as teachers. Sounds fun. There's supposedly a twist at the end of the first issue (are they trying to pull another THUNDERBOLTS ?).

- HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD #1, by McCann & Lopez, the exact same creative team as NEW AVENGERS: THE REUNION.

- YOUNG ALLIES #1, by McKeever & Baldeon, features the new Nomad, Araña, Gravity and Firestar, against "the Bastards of Evil".

- X-MEN FOREVER 2 #1 & 2, by Claremont & Grummett. Same deal as before, and they didn't even take a month off. Presumably this is to offer a jumping-on point.

- DRACULA #1 & 2, by Thomas & Giordano, seems to be a recolored reprint series.

NEW MINISERIES

- THE THANOS IMPERATIVE #1 (of 6), by Abnett, Lanning and Sepuvalda, is the new cosmic crossover. Not much tie-ins in view this time around.

- AVENGERS PRIME #1 (of 5), by Bendis & Davis, is a bimonthly mini retracing the Big Three's reunion (and proper conversation) between SIEGE and AVENGERS #1.

- AMAZING SPIDER-MAN PRESENTS: BLACK CAT #1 (of 4), by van Meter & Pulido. Apparently a tie-in to the current arc of ASM.

- DARKSTAR AND THE WINTER GUARD #1 (of 3), by Gallagher & Ellis, is a follow-up to the recent one-shot.

- DEADPOOL: WADE WILSON'S WAR #1 & #2 (of 4), by Swierczynski & Pearson : because the world cried out for more Deadpool on top of his four ongoing series ! This one appears to retell huge chunks of his past, which should be interesting to see how it fits...

- HERALDS #1-5 (of 5), by Immonen & Zonjic, is a weekly miniseries where a random selection of female Marvel characters (Emma Frost, She-Hulk, Abigail Brand, Hellcat, Valkyrie, Monica Rambeau, Sue Storm...) encounter a rogue ghost Herald of Galactus.

- CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE 1940S NEWSPAPER STRIP #1 (of 3), by Kesel, seems to be a retro recreation of some sort.

- THE RAWHIDE KID #1 (of 4), by Zimmerman & Chaykin, is a follow-up to the infamous series from a decade ago.

- HERCULES: TWILIGHT OF A GOD #1 (of 4), by Layton & Lim : a sequel to Layton's stories from the 80s.

- X-CAMPUS #1 (of 2), by a bunch of European creators : yet another Panini project, I presume.

Licensed series :
- ORSON SCOTT CARD'S ENDER IN EXILE #1 (of 5), by Johnston & Mhan.
- THE STAND: HARDCASES #1 (of 5), by Aguirre-Sacasa & Perkins.

ONESHOTS

- NAMORA #1, by Parker & Pichelli, is yet another one-shot around a random female Marvel character. At least this time around it might have some relevance to the ATLAS series...

- IRON MAN: KISS AND KILL #1 has Tony teaming up with Black Widow (first story, Ahearne & Ching) and Wolverine (second story, Kesel & Nguyen) for infiltration stories.

- FANTASTIC FOUR IN...¡ATAQUE DEL M.O.D.O.K.! #1 is Beland & Doe's annual romp with the FF. Spanish version available too.

- SPIDER-HAM 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1, by DeFalco, Peyer, and assorted artists.

- MARVELMAN CLASSIC PRIMER #1 : basically a bunch of pin-ups and interviews. This is a prelude to reprinting the Mick Anglo original series.

- ORIGINS OF X-MEN SAGA : a free preview for the post-Second Coming X-books.

NOTABLE ISSUES

- SECOND COMING continues in UNCANNY X-MEN #525, NEW MUTANTS #14, X-MEN LEGACY #237 and X-FORCE #28, with tie-ins in X-FACTOR #206 and X-MEN: HELLBOUND #2 (which is certainly a shorter title than originally announced).

- WORLD WAR HULKS continues in HULK #23 and INCREDIBLE HULK #610. Those books promise the origins of both the Red Hulk and the Red She-Hulk, finally.

- AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (#634-636) finally starts its long-foreshadowed "Grim Hunt" storyline (Kelly & Lark), but also includes two ongoing back-up strips : a two-page one by Lee & Martin, and a Kraven/Kaine story by deMatteis & Fiumura. The price jacks up to $3.99.

- FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #32, by Ahearne & ... Hitch ? Seriously ? This seems to be a bizarre tale where Johnny is becoming a father and this is somehow a trap. Er, yeah.

- INVINCIBLE IRON MAN ANNUAL #1, by Fraction and Di Giandomenico, recaps the Mandarin's history.

- DEADPOOL - MERC WITH A MOUTH is now retroactively a 13-issue miniseries. Of course, considering the recent history of Deadpool books, that's no assurance that #13 will be the last...

- Fraction & Ferry take over THOR with #611.

- It's reflected for the first time in the solicitations that PUNISHER has changed its title to FRANKEN-CASTLE with #18 (though I seem to recall an announcement that it'll actually happen sooner than that). Well, at least it's more distinctive that way, and they're committed to the current direction. (There's also a one-shot reprinting THE LIST & #11.)

- S.H.I.E.L.D. is apparently a bimonthly series.

- WOLVERINE: ORIGINS #49's solicitation hints that the book will be ending with #50.

GONE MISSING THIS MONTH :
- ASTONISHING SPIDER-MAN/WOLVERINE is apparently bimonthly. Well, that's Kubert for you.
- NOVA and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY appear to be on hold for the duration of the THANOS IMPERATIVE, as they're missing for the second month running.

NOTABLE COLLECTIONS

- Marvel Masterworks : Amazing Spider-Man v12, and a TPB of Daredevil v1.
- Essentials : Captain America v5 (we're reaching the Secret Empire, right ?).
- Ghost Rider: Danny Ketch Classic v2.

- Cheap "Marvel's Greatest Comics" reprints of the month : ASM #546, DEADPOOL #1 (current series), DD2 #26, and X #114.

- GHOST RIDER BY JASON AARON OMNIBUS HC, collecting #20-35 of the latest series + the HEAVEN'S ON FIRE mini. Wow, that was quick.

- The X-NECROSHA HC includes not only the one-shot and the main storyline in X-FORCE #21-25, but also the X-MEN LEGACY #231-233 and NEW MUTANTS #6-8 tie-ins. (As well as the unrelated X-MEN LEGACY #234, presumably because it didn't fit anywhere else...)

- Continuing those big "grab-bags" HCs : CIVIL WAR: FANTASTIC FOUR HC collects not only FF #536-543, but also BP4 #18-25 (reasonable enough), SHE-HULK #8 and CW:YOUNG AVENGERS/RUNAWAYS (what ?)

- AVENGERS: UNDER SIEGE PREMIERE HC, by Stern & Buscema.

- RAWHIDE KID: SLAP LEATHER PREMIERE HC, by Zimmerman & Severin. Well, if you're going to do a sequel, you might as well reprint the original.

- PETER PORKER, THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-HAM VOL. 1 GN-TPB

- HALO GRAPHIC NOVEL TPB, by various (including Moebius !) : wait, is this an original graphic novel ?

- THOR BY DAN JURGENS & JOHN ROMITA JR. VOL. 3 TPB

- AVENGERS: VISION & THE SCARLET WITCH - A YEAR IN THE LIFE TPB, reprints their twelve-issues series (and WCA #2) by Englehart, Howell & Milgrom.

- TOMB OF DRACULA VOL. 1 TPB

- AVENGERS: I AM AN AVENGER II TPB reprints select issues from Heroes Reborn onward.

- DEADPOOL & CABLE ULTIMATE COLLECTION BOOK 2 TPB covers #19-35.

- DAREDEVIL BY BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS & ALEX MALEEV ULTIMATE COLLECTION BOOK 1 TPB covers #16-19 & #26-40.

So, what caught up your eye this time ?
