Journey Into Mystery#47 features the first appearance of Odin and Valhalla that I know of.

The JIM 47 story was of course a "pre-hero" Atlas story in which a con man gets more than he bargained for.

JIM#97/2 might have been the first appearance of Valhalla in the Silver Age (post-FF#1).

The Valkyries debuted in JIM I#91.

Possibly Diagetically Chronologically Earlier References to Valhalla

King Kammuu mentioned Valhalla in one of those Tales of Atlantis back-ups. Since Kammuu lived @ 18,000 BCE, and Varnae (who became a vampire during Kull's time) stated in MCP 63/4 that he predated the Asgardians, this may seem strange. However, Ymir's Valhalla was well established as existing in the Hyborian Age, and Varnae did not specify if he predated Ymir. Also, Supernatural Thrillers#5 (letters page) indicates that the Ymir worshippers in that story may have predated the time of Kull.

Thanks for the help guys. This is exactly what I was looking for!! There is also an early reference to Valhalla in DARING MYSTERY COMICS 6 (1940), mentioned as the home of Hercules, Jupiter and Mars...

Thor's Avengers 2004 Handbook Entry, the Council of God-Heads entry in A-Z, and a few other shed a little light on the
murky pre-history of the Asgardians.
