With regards to a 2-page spreads within a comics, where either one large image covers two pages, do we consider this one or two pages in reviewing for the MCP.

Alternatively, with another tow page spread when a row of panels stretches from the first page to the second page only to have the next row start on the the first page again, how do we annotate the page and panels when they are spread out over two pages?

We are gravitating toward treating the two-page spread, separated by a slash, as one page, i.e., 2/3:5 for the 5th panel of the "page" consisting of pages 2 & 3.

I thought we used an ampersand [i.e., (2&3:5)], rather than a slash [not least because we use a slash for something completely unrelated, while we don't use an ampersand for anything else].

I haven't seen much of that, but you know, I like it.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been using ampersands when two-page spreads have occurred in stories I've analysed.

The reason I don't like the idea of using a slash now it's come up is not just that it's used elsewhere, but that if you were to devolve that usage (where RANDOM 2/3 would mean the third story in issue two of Random) to the page level, it would logically mean a panel [i.e., (2/3) would look like the third panel on page two]. Since we use a colon for that [and I'm not suggesting that we change that], I'd prefer to codify the indicator of a two-page spread as an ampersand.

Grumble...wondering how I'm going to change select slashes to ampersands in the Calendar quickly...
