Can anyone confirm or deny the notion that the Imperial Guard's Warstar was named B'Nee and C'Cil after the old show "Beany and Cecil"?

Claremont has named other "outer-space" characters after comic-strip or cartoon influences ... the Stajammers' Mam'selle Hepzibah (from Pogo), and K'Kraan Guardians Modt & Jahf (from Mutt and Jeff). Could Warstar be another case of this?

I aassumed that the Warstar creatures were named after Beany and Cecil right from the start. I'd be shocked if they weren't.
