Whatever happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. Volume 2?

Did Jonathan Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. Volume Two ever end? It was supposed to be a 6-issue miniseries but I only have the first four issues. I was thinking that I must have somehow missed the final two issues but I've since checked and I can't find any solicitations for them in the Marvel Previews. So what happened? Were they cancelled? Or just delayed while Hickman worked on the FF series (in addition to Fantastic Four)?

I'd have to think the latter, wouldn't you? When was the last time Marvel cancelled a limited series. Look at Twelve!

This was just answered in the "Axel-In-Charge" column yesterday, as a matter of fact:

From the article:
EarthOneComics stopped in to check on a fan favorite series, asking: "I'm a big fan of Jonathan Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. series. If I recall correctly the second volume was supposed to run 6 issues but it's been months since issue #4 came out. What's the status of the last two issues?"

Alonso: Those issues are being worked on even you read this. Somewhere [artist] Dustin Weaver's ears are burning.

Thanks for the info about S.H.I.E.L.D. I can't say that I really enjoyed that miniseries but it did introduce some interesting ideas and I do want to see how everything plays out in the end. Of course, from a disruption-of-established-continuity standpoint, reading Hickman's revelations/retcons is like watching an accident in progress but at least they're entertaining.

Sure, THE TWELVE and that SPIDER-MAN/BLACK CAT LS from ten years ago were eventually finished but there are others that were not. Two such miniseries came to mind immediately and I soon remembered another two. In chronological order:
1. BLADE (1998). A six-issue LS cancelled after issue #3.
2. STRANGE TALES (1998). A four-issue LS cancelled after issue #2.
3. DAREDEVIL/BULLSEYE: THE TARGET (2002). A four-issue LS cancelled after issue #1.
4. ALL-WINNERS SQUAD: BAND OF BROTHERS (2011). An eight-issue LS cancelled after issue #5.
