June call for analyses

Another month, another call. Despite the tremendous (to me) number of comics I'm picking up these days (but nowhere near Fury's total), there still are some from the post-FF 1 canonical mainstream 616 MU I'm passing up. I'm requesting volunteers to submit analyses of the storylines below so that I can add them to my draft update of the current Marvel Calendar or to calendar notes I have for older periods. These analyses also help us hash out chronology for the MCP. I've noted previous volunteers in parentheses. If these folks would care to add to their work load, or of others would care to chip in, let me know. All analyses are greatly appreciated.

Also, please let me know if I've messed up the status of the comics themselves or assignments I've noted. Thanks much! :D

Dead of Night Featuring Man-Thing #1-4
I was pretty sure this was non-canon, based upon the solicits for it saying it was a "re-imagining" of the Man-Thing's origin.
X-Factor Special: Layla Miller
Sure, why not, I'll take this one. :)

Well, I've read the first two issues. It's basically a ""mature" retelling of Man-Thing's early days (for instance Jennifer Kale is now a stripper... :? ), with Digger as a Cryptkeeper-like narrator (probably not the most trustworthy narrator anyway...). It does seem quite non-canon to me, at least for the main parts. I wonder though if Digger's appearances in the framing sequence could possibly be seen as canon?

Just got back from spending a week and a half in Italy, which is why I couldn't attend the Chicago ComicCon. I'll get to July's call next week, after I pick up the latest Marvel Previews. And, boy, will I have some catching up to do on new comics. :!:
