Punisher War Journal v2 #26
February, 2009

Appearances:
Punisher(Frank Castle), Rhino, Stiltman II(Michael Watts), Tinkerer-BTS?

Synopsis:
Pg1-pg22: the night of Christmas day
From across the street, the Punisher spies on five idiots who have acquired the Stiltman armor from the Tinkerer. They argue over who the new Stiltman will be until Travis(a self-proclaimed cop killer) pulls a gun and demands that he’s the new Stiltman. They turn the tables on him and kick him out, only for him to be shot by the Punisher unbeknown to them. Mike is voted the new Stiltman and they decide to give the suit a try. Meanwhile, the Rhino happens by the Punisher, and he talks him out of killing the four guys because it’s Christmas. The Punisher remembers that he only kills the guilty, not the stupid.

References:
It’s Christmas day, this occurs on the night of the end of Punisher: X-Mas Special v2 #1, on the Christmas following Secret Invasion. There’s snow everywhere.

The five idiots are holed up in the ruins of the villains bar where the Punisher blew up a bunch of villains back in PWJ2 4. He’s across the street, on the roof of the Vulture’s place. The Rhino is there to feed the Vulture’s birds. Since we don’t know where the Vulture is or what he’s doing I don’t think he qualifies for a BTS here. The Rhino is only doing him a favor.

Mike got the Stiltman armor from the Tinkerer, but we don’t know how long ago. I’m unsure if he qualifies for a BTS here.

Michael Watts ends up being the new Stiltman, but who knows how long that will last. Also appearing are his friends, who knows if they’ll ever appear anywhere again, but they are Sal, Roger Ramsey, William Anthony, & Travis Butler(dead).

Turk Barrett was the second guy to use the Stilt-Man armor back in "Daredevil" vol. 1 #186 (September, 1982). Another "new" Stilt-Man appeared in "Marvel Team-Up" vol. 3 #9 (August, 2005), "Spider-Man Unlimited" vol. 2 #12 (January, 2006) and "Ms. Marvel" vol. 2 #1 (May, 2006) though he was never given a civilian identity. Watts would be the fourth Stilt-Man unless I a m forgetting another one.
