Brief synopsis: Kathy Ling and Tyrone Jessup help Anastasia “Stasi” Inyushin and former C.I.A. agent, Emmett Proudhawk, escape the K.G.B. They bring her to Sanctuary, which is run by Colby Shaw , where she meets Wayne Tucker and Michael Crawley. Emmett explains to the five teens how they need to protect each other, but Stasi feels that she is placing the others in danger by remaining. She contacts KGB agent, Serge Vladimiroff, to turn herself in, but Emmett and the others follow her. During the confrontation with the KGB, Emmett is killed by Mindwolf. Wayne then leads the others to summon the Psi-Hawk, a gestalt psychic construct, for the first time. The Psi-Hawk takes out Mindwolf and the five teens decide to stay together.

Brief synopsis: Stasi is sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Kansas. Stasi's aunt and uncle die in a car crash. Stasi returns to the Soviet Union, but learns that her parents have died. She is taken under the wing of KGB operative Serge Vladimiroff.

Brief synopsis: Stasi is sent to a Siberian installation to have her gift examined and tested. Her gift turns into a power that allows her to heal.

Brief synopsis: Proudhawk works for the CIA keeping track of people with high ESP scores. After Proudhawk's power to "push" people emerges, the list of people he keeps is leaked outside the agency. The people on the list start going missing or getting killed. Proudhawk leaves the CIA and starts looking for the surviving members of the list.

Brief synopsis: Carrying Proudhawk's body, the teens are pursued by the police and C.I.A. on their way back to Sanctuary. Using their powers, the group is able to elude their pursuers, but they are finally apprehended by C.I.A. agents outside of Sanctuary. The agents demand answers, but Wayne has the group create the Psi-Hawk. The teens are all
gunned down by the agents, but the Psi-Hawk fights them off, erases all knowledge of the recent events from their minds, and then heals all five teens. Only “the Skipper”, a C.I.A. friend of Proudhawk's, is allowed to retain his memories.

Brief synopsis: Bert Olson, a PI hired by Kathy Ling's parents, brings her back home to Woodland Hills, CA. Psi-Hawk, weakened by Kathy's absence, fails in an attempt to push her back to San Francisco. Wayne pushes her to meet with the other four teens in an attempt to bring her back to Sanctuary. Kathy refuses, but returns home to find Olson showing her parents photos of her using her powers in an attempt to get more money from them. Kathy strikes him down with her powers and the other teens arrive to come to her aid. Stasi heals Olson and Wayne erases the memories of Olson and her parents. Realizing she needs the protection of the group, Kathy returns with the rest to Sanctuary.

Brief synopsis: Derek Shiningstar (in the shadows) gives Thomas Boyd the codename “Stalker” and sends him to capture the five teens. Boyd travels to Sanctuary posing as a runaway. Using his power to steal others' energy he knocks out four of the group. When he tries the same with Stasi, he finds that she is immune to his powers. During their battle, their powers lock and Stasi overcomes Boyd rendering him unconscious. Stasi heals the other four but the returns to find Boyd gone.

Brief synopsis: On Christmas Eve, Tyrone sends his astral form to visit his family and stops his brother, Richard, from also running away from home. Meanwhile, Cool and his gang threaten Tyrone's body and the other four teens come to his defense. Tyrone returns to his body in time to take out Cool. Because of the fight, Colby Shaw demands that the five teens leave Sanctuary. An hour later, the group is on the road.

They rescue Kathy and decide to return to San Francisco to settle their problems at a more stable place.

Brief synopsis: Stalker ambushes the teens as they are touring the Alcatraz prison. They summon the Psi-Hawk to help fight him, but Boyd is able to absorb the Psi-Hawk's energies until it vanishes. When Derek Shiningstar's agents arrive, Stalker realizes that they are there to kill the teens and that he has been lied to. Stalker turns on the agents
and helps form the Psi-Hawk to defeat the agents. Stalker realizes he's burned his bridges with Shiningstar, but that he doesn't feel safe with the teens either, and leaves alone. The group decides to seek out Emmett Proudhawk's grandmother for help.

Knowing more people may come to the reservation after them, and endanger the safety of the Proudstars, the teens decide to return to San Francisco.

Brief synopsis: Stasi becomes involved in a cult that, unknown to her, uses her abilities to make money. The others suspect she is in trouble and attempt to help her. When Stasi tries to leave the cult, the group reveals their true colors, and attempt to force her to stay. But, before anyone can get hurt, the police, who had been contacted by another teen held by the cult, arrive and arrest the cult's leaders.

Brief synopsis: With Colby Shaw's help, the teens find computer files on each of them that Emmett Proudhawk had left at Sanctuary. They learn that Proudhawk had named them "Psi-Force," and given each of them codenames: “Healer” for Stasi; “Shockwave” for Kathy; “Salvo” for Michael; “Voyager” for Tyrone; "Network" for Wayne; and “Syphon” for Thomas Boyd. As they are reading the files, Stalker meets up with them with Derek Shiningstar's agents hot on his trail. The six of them form the Psi-Hawk to battle the agents, but the creature exhibits wild behavior, even turning on the group. Michael realizes that the Psi-Hawk can only merge five minds safely. He decides that Boyd needs the group more than him, and that he can make it on his own. He leaves the group and, realizing that Psi-Hawk didn't push him to return, decides that he made the right choice to leave.

Note: The files name the remaining two on Proudhawk's list for the first time: Joan Grant, who is noted as dead; and Edward Finelli, who is noted as missing.

Flashback (15:2-16:3)

Brief synopsis: The day after the White Event, Thomas Boyd is bullying a fellow student and suddenly leeches energy from him. Frightened, Boyd runs away from school. He comes to the attention of C.I.A. agent, Emmett Proudhawk, who is gathering information on teenagers with ESP powers. Unknown to Proudhawk, his partner Derek Shiningstar is working against him, and arranges to make Proudhawk think Boyd is dead.
References: Boyd was a 17-year-old junior in high school at the time of the White Event.

Brief synopsis: When the White Event occurs, Wayne Tucker is stealing parts from a garage. When a police officer confronts him, Wayne “pushes” him into believing his lies. Days later he tells his abusive father who refuses to listen. Wayne runs away from home.

Brief synopsis: Kathy Ling is cleaning her bedroom when the White Event occurs. Almost immediately her power of telekinesis activates, causing the sheets and pillows on her bed to float. Later that day at the mall, she gets upset with a store clerk and accidentally throws her into a display case with her powers. When she gets home she starts to learn how to control her powers, but hates them.

Brief synopsis: July 22: When the White Event occurs Michael Crawley is living with his foster parents, the Lanes, on their farm. After Mr. Lane yells at him for no t feeding his pigs correctly, Michael lashes out with his powers and then runs away.

Brief synopsis: Stasi is visited by her uncle, Grigori Mironenko, the new head of the Soviet consulate in San Francisco, to ask her to help heal his wife who has lapsed into a coma. Stasi is unable to heal his wife who passes away. Suspicious, the other members of Psi-Force break into the grounds. Mironenko discovers that Serge Vladimiroff had infected his wife with a deadly disease just to capture Stasi. Mironenko lets Stasi leave the consulate grounds over Vladimiroff's objections.

Brief synopsis: While Tyrone is in his astral form, his body is stolen by Seth Cleveland, who demands that Jessup spy on a meeting and report on it to him in order to get his body back. While the rest of the teens learn Cleveland's identity, Jessup attends the meeting and learns that Cleveland is after a shipment of nerve gas. Boyd, still feeling he needs to prove himself, takes control and, holding a gun to Cleveland's family, blackmails Cleveland into turning Tyrone's body over. While happy to have Tyrone back, the rest of the group feels that Boyd has crossed the line.

Brief synopsis: Hitchhiking through Minnesota on his way to the Clinic, Michael Crawley is picked up by two men, Bill and Glenn. The police stop their car because they are wanted on charges, but Michael uses his powers to help them escape. The criminals lie to Michael to conceal their true nature and, when they drop him off, give him their phone number. At the Clinic, the staff test Michael's powers, but he freaks out when they put him in CAT scan. Mike breaks out of the facility and phones Bill. That evening, the criminals convince Michael to destroy an empty house for the insurance money. Brief synopsis: While shopping for a present on Wayne's birthday, Boyd, Kathy and Anastasia encounter Troublemaker and Imprint, paranormals working for the Medusa Web mercenary organization. Troublemaker manages to defeat Boyd and escapes. At the Siberian Project, Serge Vladimiroff sends the insane Russian paranormal, Rodstvow, after the teens. Troublemaker contacts the teens and sets up a meeting at Golden Gate Park. Troublemaker attacks the group, but Kathy manages to hold the mercenary with her telekinesis and Boyd beats him until he reveals that Medusa Web cameras have been recording the entire battle. The teens destroy the cameras and the tapes, but are unaware that Imprint has recorded everything with his powers. After Stasi heals Boyd, they embrace and kiss outside Sanctuary. Inside Sanctuary, Wayne collapses just as Rodstvow appears and unleashes a blast of energy that destroys Sanctuary.

Brief synopsis: Wayne Tucker meets Lindsey Falmon when he comes to Seattle to stay at her stepfather's hotel. Andrew Chaser meets Tyrone Jessup in his astral form in the rubble of Sanctuary. Since the destruction of Sanctuary, Tyrone's body has been in the hospital with third-degree burns covering most of it. Chaser learns, and tells Tyrone, that Wayne Tucker is in Seattle and being pursued by the Medusa Web, a paranormal mercenary outfit hired by the government. When agents of the Medusa Web attempt to capture Wayne, Lindsey helps him escape and Tyrone arrives to aid them. During the battle, Lindsey manifests her own paranormal power to “read” the past of inanimate objects. Lindsey suggests they head to Canada.
