SYNOPSIS:
(6-10:1)-FB-FB: 2620 BC: The Brood come to Earth and attack Egypt. Pharaoh Khasekhemwy Khasekhemui is killed. Imhotep leads the Egyptians, including En Sabah Nur, the future Apocalypse, in defeating the Brood. Later, the SHIELD organization built in the reverence of Imhotep’s bravery will be named after his shield.
(13-14)-FB-FB: 114: In Luoyang, the Han Dynasty, Zhang Heng, agent of SHIELD meets with a female Celestial who’s come to Earth.
(15-17)-FB-FB: 1495: In Florence, Leonardo da Vinci’s aides tell him they’ve discovered something growing inside the sun. Leonardo, and agent of SHIELD, announces that he’ll build something to save the world from whatever is inside the sun.
(18:2-20:2)-FB-FB: 1503: Leonardo da Vinci finishes constructing a flying suit of armor, takes his newly invented Human Machine with him and flies toward the sun.
(21-23)-FB-FB: 1582: Galileo finishes building a machine that he hopes will drive the attacking Galactus away from Earth.
(1-5:2), (5:4)-FB (10:2-12:4)-FB (18:1)-FB (20:3)-FB (24)-FB: 1953: In New York, SHIELD agents Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards pick up empowered teen Leonid and take him to Rome. They go underground to the Immortal City where they’re greeted by Isaac Newton, a member of the SHIELD High Council. The High council tells Leonid of the secret history of SHIELD defending the world against extra-terrestrial threats. Newton asks if Leonid knows the final fate of man and tells Leonid that SHIELD has need of him.
(25-34)-FB: 1956: Later, the Night Machine appears and greets Leonid, who he raised as a son. Night Machine announces he’s here to destroy the Immortal City, but has to show Leonid something before the does. He takes Leonid to Iter, the door that can’t be opened, produces the key and tells Leonid to follow the stairs where ever they go. As Leonid does, Night Machine battles attacking SHIELD agents, which include Stark and Richards; they’re surprised Night Machine is alive. Meanwhile, Leonid follows the stairs and meets the arriving Leonardo da Vinci.

SYNOPSIS:
(5-6)-FB-FB: 1630: Michelangelo takes the infant Leonid from the Deviant Morda, who is being attacked by other deviants. Eventually, Leonid is given to Nikola Tesla, the Night Machine, and Bird to be raised.
(2-4)-FB (7-24)-FB: 1956: Isaac Newton makes the captive Nostradamus give him a prophecy. Nostradamus declares that there are no more prophecies; the world is changing right now. Elsewhere, Leonardo da Vinci introduces himself to Leonid, tells Leonid that Leonid is the source of the Human Machine and asks what Leonid remembers of his childhood. At first Leonid only remembers being raised by Tesla in New York, but when da Vinci prompts him to go further, he remembers being an infant with the Deviants. Leonardo da Vinci tells Leonid that he built Iter and the Immortal City, then sounds a call to gather the other high-ranking SHIELD agents. Meanwhile, the Night Machine and Bird battle Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards. Stark uses his staff device to stop the Night Machine, but it only reveals that he’s now part machine and a human bomb. Richards leaps towards the Night Machine to stop him from exploding, but he, Night Machine, Stark and Bird all vanish. As Leonardo da Vinci leads Leonid through his old workshop to get to the SHIELD High Council, da Vinci tells Leonid that he’s here to lead SHIELD into a new future.

SYNOPSIS:
(6:4-7:3)-FB-FB: 750: In Baghdad, SHIELD agent Abu Musa Jabir Hayyan Al Azdi uses technology to drain lives from 1,000 SHIELD agents to add their strength to his own. It doesn’t work, the machine overloads and with SHIELD’s ranks depleted the Dark Ages begins.
(5-6:3)-FB (8-10)-FB: 1582: Michelangelo watches as Galileo fine-tunes the failed machine from Baghdad, 750, and uses it to defeat Galactus. Two-thirds of SHIELD’s ranks are sacrificed.
(1-3)-FB: Early 1620s: Isaac Newton is recruited into SHIELD, along with other great thinkers.
(11-15:3)-FB: 1625: Galileo sends Newton to the Deviant city Ashomia to expand his knowledge. Newton assimilates himself into Deviant life and takes a mate, Morda. Eventually, he finds their secrets texts, steals them and sets the city on fire to cover his escape.
(18:3-18:6)-FB (19:3-19:5)-FB: 1642: With the Deviant texts, Newton discovers the Quiet Math. Feeling that the old SHIELD has grown old and weak, Newton murders Galileo and takes over SHIELD.
(16-17)-FB: 1652: Isaac Newton and SHIELD agents take Nostradamus into their custody. Nostradamus goes willingly, because he knew it was going to happen.
(4) (7:4) (15:4) (18:1-18:2) (19:1-19:2) (19:6-22): 1956: Newton prepares a dose of the Infinity Formula. Newton gives the Infinity Formula to the still-captive Nostradamus, who has a vision that the world is changing right now. Newton leaves the chamber to see that Leonardo da Vinci has returned.

SYNOPSIS:
(8-9)-FB: 114: The female Celestials explain to Zhang Heng that Celestials reproduce by placing their embryos into planets, and when the Celestials is born the planet is destroyed. However, she is pregnant and doesn’t know what to do. Zhang Heng suggests that instead of putting the baby into the planet, she put it into the sun.
(12:2)-FB: 1495: Leonardo da Vinci’s aides tell him they’ve found something growing inside the sun (repeat).
(20:3-21:4)-FB: 1645: Michelangelo warns Nostradamus that Newton will adbuct him and keep him alive for centuries.
(16-19)-FB: 1652: Isaac Newton injects Nostradamus with the Infinity Formula; he intends to keep Nostradamus alive so he can continue to give Newton prophecies over the centuries. He foresees the discovery of a new continent, the American Revolution, America becoming its own country and WWII.
(1-7) (10-15) (20:1-20:2) (21:5-22): 1956: Isaac Newton confronts Leonardo da Vinci, not believing he is who he says he is. Leonardo da Vinci presents his Human Machine and Newton orders everyone clear the room. Newton privately interrogates da Vinci in Egyptian and is convinced he is da Vinci. Newton demands to know why da Vinci is here; da Vinci says to do his duty as an agent of SHIELD. Later, da Vinci says goodbye to Leonid before he leaves to fly toward the sun, where he finds a newborn Celestial. Meanwhile, Leonid finds the captive Nostradamus.

SYNOPSIS:
(15-18)-FB: 1951: Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards, having said goodbye to their families, leave on a SHIELD mission to go after Nikola Tesla. Stark activates the car’s controls and the car takes flight.
(6-7): 1957: Leonardo da Vinci continues to improve his Human Machine while raising the Celestial child, the Star Child. Meanwhile, Isaac Newton continues to run SHIELD.
(8-9): 1958: As the Star Child grows and da Vinci continues to work on the Human Machine, Newton’s followers begin leaving him to follow da Vinci.
(10-11): 1959: SHIELD starts to become split into two factions; hope under da Vinci and fate under Newton.
(12-14): 1960: Leonardo da Vinci preaches eternity of humankind to his SHIELD followers while Isaac Newton preaches the end of the world. When Nostradamus sees the Human Machine near completion, he tells Leonid the future is almost now.

(1:2-5) (19-22): The future: Howard Stark wakes up and is shocked to see the moon is broken. He and Nathaniel Richards determine by the constellations and sun’s color that they’re five or six thousand years in the future, and discover ancient ruins with a Sphinx that has Immortus’ face. They explore the ruins and find Bird. They follow Bird into the ruins and she brings them to the Night Machine and tells them they must save the Night Machine.

SYNOPSIS:
(8-10)-FB (14:3)-FB: 1955: Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards accidentally kill the Night Machine. They search his lab and are surprised when his body disappears. Michelangelo repairs the Night Machine.
(1-5) (16-22): 1960: Leonid watches as Isaac Newton’s SHIELD agents attack Leonardo da Vinci’s SHIELD agents; the two sides are clashing over destiny and fate. Angered the two sides who kill each other over something like that, Leonid unleashes his power, creating a wall through the Immortal City, dividing the two factions. They continue to fight despite Leonid’s shield. Michelangelo appears, introduces himself to Leonid as the Forever Man and tells Leonid that Leonid is the third way SHIELD has been looking for.
(6-7) (11-15): The future: Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards work to repair the Night Machine’s damaged power source. When they succeed the Night Machine wakes up and tries to kill them. Bird calms Night Machine down and convinces everyone to form a temporary truce. Richards reveals he’s the reason they’re all in the future; he has the ability to move through time. They construct a new power source and Richards takes them back to the past.

1st Story

SYNOPSIS:
(1-9)-FB: 226 BC: When a Kree sentry attacks Rhodes, Archimedes, an agent of SHIELD, uses his stone statue robot to battle it. Archimedes defeats the Kree Sentry, but the robot is destroyed.
(1-4) (10): 1497: Leonardo da Vinci teaches his class who Archimedes was.

2nd Story

APPEARANCES:

SYNOPSIS:
(1-6): 1806: Men break into the Immortal City, evade guards and find Nostradamus. They ask him for a prophecy. Only one man survives as they escape. The survivor tells Michelangelo that Nostradamus perseveres.

3rd Story

SYNOPSIS:
(1-2): 1955: Michelangelo brings the Night Machine back to life.
(4-7)-FB: Night Machine travels to the Zargos Mountains and finds the Last Caliphate.
(3) (8): Night Machine returns to Bird and tells her Michelangelo said she would know what it’s now time for. She produces the key to Iter and tells Night Machine it’s time to give it to Leonid.

4th Story

SYNOPSIS:
(4-5)-FB-FB: Isaac Newton murders John Flamsteed, Robert Hooke, Blaise Pascal and John Locke.
(2-3)-FB (6-7)-FB: 1707: Gottfried Leibniz confronts Newton about the murders. He knows Newton did it, and asks Newton if he really thinks his hypocrisy is actually enlightenment. Newton murders Leibniz in a rage.
(1) (8): 1956: Newton studies the sun, tries to determine what’s inside it and considers murdering Leonardo da Vinci.

SYNOPSIS:
(1-3)-FB (13-15)-FB: 1502: Leonardo da Vinci tries again to recruit Michelangelo into SHIELD. Michelangelo again declines, and reveals he knows more about SHIELD than da Vinci does. Michelangelo explains what déjà vu is to da Vinci: a convergence of separate timeline iterations that cross over each other because the person is in the same place and time doing the same thing in every iteration. This is one of those times for both da Vinci and Michelangelo. Michelangelo tells da Vinci that he must build the Immortal City he’s designed, place a secret room inside that’s intra-dimensional, have a door that only a specific key can unlock and tells him there’s a god growing inside the sun.
(6-10)-FB: 1630: In the Deviant city Ashomia, Morda is attacked by other Deviants. Michelangelo arrives, saves the infant Leonid and leaves. The Deviants kill Morda. Michelangelo delivers Leonid to Bird, tells her to raise him as her own, and gives her a key that she will need to give Leonid sometime in the future.
(11-12)-FB 1642: Isaac Newton murders Galileo. Michelangelo appears, lets Newton know he’s disappointed in him and leaves.
(16)-FB: 1645: Michelangelo warns Nostradamus that when he becomes Isaac Newton’s prisoner, Newton will drive Nostradamus insane.
(4-5) (17-20): 1960: Michelangelo and Leonid watch as da Vinci’s and Isaac Newton’s SHIELD forces battle each other. Michelangelo tells Leonid that SHIELD has always had two ideologies battling each other; free will and fate. Leonid represents the third way that combines both. The battle is interrupted when Howard Stark, Nathaniel Richards, the Night Machine and Bird arrive from the future.

SYNOPSIS:
(1-3)-FB: 1503: Leonardo da Vinci transfers his consciousness into a Life Model Decoy.
(4-20) 1960: Isaac Newton tries to murder Leonardo da Vinci but Howard Stark stops him. Newton decries da Vinci and his followers as traitors but Michelangelo interrupts and reveals Newton has blackmailed his way into power by offering key people of power within SHIELD the Infinity Formula. Newton has used so much of it that there is almost none left. A council of judgment is called to see if Newton or da Vinci is right and Leonid will preside over it. At the council both sides give their testimony: Newton has murdered his way to the top and da Vinci has sacrificed his way to the top; both have killed and will kill again. Leonid sides with da Vinci so Newton runs away to the future. As SHIELD prepares to follow him, Howard Stark begins recording his memoirs. Meanwhile, Nostradamus ransacks Newton’s office. The Star Child follows him and finds Newton’s Quiet Math. The Star Child immediately understands it and goes insane.

S.H.I.E.L.D. v2 #3

SYNOPSIS:
(1-20): 1960: The Star Child rampages through the Immortal City, destroying everything in his path until the Night Machine overcharges him. Nostradamus tries to warn everyone too late that the Star Child isn’t done as the Star Child gets up and tries to destroy them. Leonid saves them with one of his shields. Stark and Richards blast the Star Child, momentarily confusing him. Michelangelo talks with the Star Child, and the Star Child realizes the world will end in the year 2060. The Star Child travels to the future. SHIELD approaches da Vinci’s Human Machine to follow him into the future.

SYNOPSIS:
(1-20): 1960: In the Zargos Mountains, SHIELD revives the Last Caliphate, a person who exists simultaneously as his past self, present self and possible future self. The Last Caliphate is brought to the Human Machine and SHIELD travels to the future of 2060, passing the history of the Marvel Universe as they go. They arrive in three different possible 2060s; a natural paradise, a technological paradise and a ruined dystopia. In all three possibilities Isaac Newton confronts them with the insane Star Child and they battle. Meanwhile, Michelangelo prepares the Human Machine for its final task.

The thing when reviewing appearances of historical appearances, they often turn up in earlier, often obscure, stories as well. I am certain we could find earlier appearances of some of these historical characters.

Leonardo da Vinci appeared in TALES OF SUSPENSE #49/2 (January 1964), remotely watched by the alien Sneepers as he painted the Mona Lisa. As he painted the Mona Lisa between 1503 and 1506, I would place his appearance as below.

Nostradmus appears in fb in Avengers #210, '81, prior to his SHIELD #4, '10 fb.

Leonardo Da Vinci apparently appears in the Cyclops story in MCP #21, '89, though I'm going from online info as I don't have the issue to hand, so I can't say as to what capacity (actual fb as opposed to generic image of him, for instance), or help place it in his timeline. Da Vinci and Newton both appear in the back-up story in Dr. Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #21, '90.

About the listing of Zhang Heng (and Eastern names), they list the family name first so that Zhang is the family name while Heng is his personal name.
So it should be simply:

Leonardo da Vinci doesn't actually appear in MCP 21- a robot with Stephen Lang's mind says humans have brought forth Einstein and da Vinci,unlike mutants, and images of Einstein and da Vinci are shown.

Da Vinci and Newton both appear in the back-up story in Dr. Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #21, '90.

In that back-up story, the narrator (which is actually the narrative of the Book of the Vishanti) is reviewing Man's attempts to use mathematics to understand the multiverse when it mentions Newton, Pythagoras, Euclid, Einstein and DaVinci, describing them as being "among the priests in the temple of mathematics." In that same panel there are headshots for all five of them. These are only generic images which shouldn't count as actual appearances.
