FLASHBACKS:
Rachel Summers sends Kate Rasputin back in time to avert the Days of Future Past (recap of UX 141-142). Adamantium is bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton (recap of M/CP 72-84). Malcolm Colcord, Madison Jeffries and his robot Bot slaughter the U-Men. When they’re done, Bot analyzes Malcolm Colcord’s mental state. As Colcord’s and John Sublime’s groups continue to fight, Brent Jackson’s group stays out of it. When Sauron breaks out of the Raft, he joins Colcord’s group (-FB, new). John Sublime sabotages EVA; she crashes with Fantomex inside (-FB-FB, new). Three weeks in the future, Wolverine and Agent Zero stop Fantomex from killing John Sublime at a public appearance. As they argue, Chamber arrives and attacks Sublime. Wolverine chases Chamber while Agent Zero spots Mesmero in the crowd. As Sublime dies he tells Fantomex something; Fantomex walks away. Wolverine learns that Chamber has no memory of his time with the X-Men. Agent Zero follows Mesmero, who meets with Brent Jackson. Shortly afterward, they’re attacked by Sentinels while Colcord and Sauron watch from afar (-FB, new).
SYNOPSIS:
30 years in the future in a decimated New York City, Wolverine sneaks past Sentinels and recalls how the world ended up the way it has.

NOTE:
There are group shots of Colcord and his Weapon X faction; Brent Jackson and his Weapon X faction; and John Sublime (head of the Weapon Plus program), Fantomex and EVA. But they’re just establishing shots of these characters, they aren’t new scenes.

The Wolverine appearing in the future here is not from the Days of Future Past timeline; he refers to it, yes, but that future diverged from the main Marvel Universe when Senator Kelly wasn’t assassinated in UX 141-142. This is a new future timeline that’s just very similar to the Days of Future Past.

Issue 5 reveals that Sublime possesses Fantomex in the “three weeks in the future” flashback, which leads into the next thirty years of this future timeline. Since Fantomex is not possessed by John Subline in the current day (as seen in recent issues of the current adjective-less X-Men volume), this flashback is where the divergence occurs.

Colcord is hallucinating conversations between himself and his “friend” Wolverine. This started in WX2 22.

The "Bot" character is actually just another Boxbot constructed by Jeffries (he made a bunch to guard the Neverland camp in the Weapon X ongoing series). However, in this future timeline one of them gains sentience and calls itself "Mastermold," so I might as well list it's appearance here.

Afterwards, Colcord notices that Bot is making decisions on his own. Wolverine is brought into the facility in chains, but Colcord, thinking they’re friends, releases him. Wolverine mauls Colcord (-FB-FB). Six years in the future, Malcolm Colcord murders all of the X-Men with Sentinels. Wolverine survives.
SYNOPSIS:
30 years in the future, Wolverine recalls how the world ended up the way it has.

FLASHBACKS:
13 years in the future, Wolverine forms a new group of X-Men. 14 years in the future, Wolverine’s X-Men destroys a Sentinel plant. 19 years in the future, Wolverine’s X-Men are betrayed by Agent Zero. Agent Zero kills himself. Watching from afar, Malcolm Colcord is upset that Wolverine isn’t dead. Bot tells Colcord not to worry about one person, and tells Colcord that he is now Mastermold (-FB). Three weeks in the future, Mesmero tells Agent Zero that he’s hypnotized him into being sleeper agent for the Weapon X program. Suddenly, they’re attacked by Sentinels (-FB-FB, between the last two pages of issue #1). A year ago, Brent Jackson rescues Mesmero from the Neverland Deathcamp. Mesmero eventually regains his hypnosis powers and Brent Jackson orders Mesmero to turn Agent Zero into a sleeper agent for him (-FB-FB-FB). When the War of the Programs begins, Brent Jackson moves his Weapon X faction underground. He selects some mutants from the Neverland Deathcamp to be used as sleeper agents and has Agent Zero kill the rest (-FB-FB-FB).
SYNOPSIS:

NOTE:
The triple flashbacks are before the divergence point, so they still occur in the main Marvel Universe. The double flashbacks take place after the divergence point, and between the last two pages of the first issue.

FLASHBACKS:
29 years in the future in a decimated New York City, most of the world’s remaining mutants gather to team up against Colcord’s Weapon X program. Magneto returns from years away in space and his Alcolytes suddenly turn into Nimrods. The gathering is attacked by Sentinels, but Magneto destroys them. To foster anti-mutant sentiment, Weapon X orchestrates assassinations, terrorist attacks and mass genocide, blaming it all on mutants. The Avengers and Fantastic Four initially fight mutants, but the American government outlaws super-powered humans in addition to the previously outlawed mutants. Wolverine meets with the outlawed heroes on the moon and convinces them to fight the Weapon X program with him, alongside Magneto. Meanwhile, Colcord blames Sauron for the Sentinels’ failure to kill the mutant gathering and kills him. Later, all the heroes are killed by Sentinels. Magneto explains to Wolverine that he orchestrated the heroes’ failure so that there would be public outcry against the Sentinel program. Elsewhere, Fantomex finds Brent Jackson.
SYNOPSIS:
30 years in the future, Wolverine recalls how the world ended up the way it has.

NOTE:
Next issue reveals that Wolverine and Warbird are married.

It really seems like there should be more time passing in this issue’s flashbacks. All of this happens in less than a year? And basically nothing important enough to show us happened in the ten years since last issue? Wow.

SYNOPSIS:
30 years in the future, Wolverine wakes up from a nightmare and evacuates the X-Men from their underground bunker when they’re found by Sentinels. Meanwhile, Malcolm Colcord argues with Mastermold because Sentinels are now executing humans that have the potential to make mutant children. The X-Men attack Weapon X headquarters and Sentinels kill several of them. A small group makes it inside and Brent Jackson leads them to the prisoner in Room X: Rachel Summers. They plan to use her mutant power to send someone back in time to alter history. Malcolm Colcord arrives, kills Sasquatch and teams up with the X-Men because he doesn’t like how the future turned out. Wolverine’s consciousness is sent to the past (circa M/CP 84) and stops himself from maiming Malcolm Colcord at the Weapon X facility. In the future, Fantomex kills Cecilia Reyes and reveals he’s actually been John Sublime for 30 years. He leaves Fantomex and possesses Wolverine, and travels to the past where he controls Wolverine to maim Colcord. Wolverine’s healing factor kicks him out and he possesses a Weapon X scientist named John Sublime.

NOTE:
When Rachel Summers sent Kate Rasputin to the past to avert the Days of Future Past, Senator Kelly wasn’t assassinated and created a divergent timeline from the Days of Future Past. This divergent timeline is the main Marvel Universe.

When Rachel Summers sends Wolverine and John Sublime to the past to avert the Days of Future Now, John Sublime ends up possessing himself and creates a divergent timeline from both the Days of Future Now and the main Marvel Universe. This divergent timeline is a new one.
