MARVEL WESTERNS: WESTERN LEGENDS (September, 2006)

FLASHBACKS:
After living with them for a year, Harold Kane speaks to a Mescalero Apache medicine man and becomes the fastest gun in the world. He’s told to leave and return in ten years. He tries to get rich betting on his gun tricks, but quickly learns he can only draw fast when he’s being drawn on. He makes many enemies and gets the nickname “Hurricane.” He returns to the Mescalero Apache and escorts Little Cloud to Canada.
SYNOPSIS:
1876: Hurricane and Little Cloud are ambushed b 100 men looking to kill Hurricane. Hurricane kills them all and he continues towards Canada.

NOTE:
This Hurricane is not Makkari, but an Old West guy that had the name before him. He’s appeared in other comics before.

2nd Story:

APPEARANCES:
Major Brett Sabre, Puma (a new, previously unseen one)

STORY:
Major Brett Sabre is attempting to relocate the Acoma tribe, but they don’t want to live with their enemies, the Kisani. After some fighting, Sabre and Captain Jack (the Acoma chief) are trapped in some caves, where they’re attacked by the Puma, who kills all of the Acoma. Sabre decides that’s the end of their assignment.

NOTE:
The current day Puma (Thomas Fireheart) is also a Kisani. Imagine that!

It looks like Brett Sabre got a promotion sometime after this story.

3rd Story:

APPEARANCES:
Red Wolf (a new, previously unseen one), Red Wolf’s replacement (another new one), Mr. Fincher and his men

SYNOPSIS:
Mr. Fincher prepares to kill an Indian he framed for horse thievery, but Red Wolf arrives and saves him. The two escape, but Red Wolf was shot and dies. The Indian decides to take his place.

NOTE:
There are some “flashbacks” here, but they’re stories, not actual recollections. Therefore, they’re unreliable. Also, Owayodata appears in the new Red Wolf’s thoughts, but it’s not an actual appearance.
