FLASHBACKS:
The Strange children and their mother set up a birthday party for their father, but when he gets home he throws a fit, telling them birthdays are a waste of time. Stephen is upset by this. Later, Stephen is excited to tell his dad that he got a perfect score in the school spelling bee. His dad tells him spelling bees are stupid and beats the crap out of Stephen. Later, when his family tries to throw him a birthday party, Stephen tells them birthdays are a waste of time and throws the cake against the wall (new). Stephen drinks while in college, before he grows a mustache (new), graduates (new) and works in his office (new). Dr. Strange’s origin (repeats ST 115/2 and just a touch of DRSTR 169-FB). Dr. Strange trains under the Ancient One (between the last two panels of the last page of ST 115/2). The Ancient One finishes Dr. Strange’s training while Mordo secretly watches (after ST 115/2).
SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Strange celebrates his dead father’s birthday.

NOTE:
For those interested, Eugene Strange’s birthday is on June 30.

The retelling of ST 115/2 is almost word for word, with some condensing here and there. Also, it removes the flashback element of ST 115/2 and just tells it in order. The actual car crash isn’t shown in ST 115/2, but it is in DRSTR 169, and this retells that.
