This series is the Marvel adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. This issue reprints Dracula Lives! #5, 6/4, 7/3 & 8/3. DL 5, 6/4 & 7/3 are already in the MCP, but 7/3 is in the wrong spot. However, only Dracula is listed. DL 8/3 is not in the MCP. So…

DRACULA LIVES! #5 (1st story)

SYNOPSIS:
Summoned to Castle Dracula to assist Count Dracula in buying land in England, Jonathan Harker travels by horse drawn carriage and is greeted by the Count.

DRACULA LIVES! #6 (4th story)

FLASHBACK:
Vlad Tepes leads an army in battle.
SYNOPSIS:
Count Dracula invites Harker into his castle and gives him a tour. They begin to make plans for where Dracula will buy his British land. When Harker cuts himself shaving, Dracula must restrain himself. Dracula has Harker write a series of letters to his boss. Jonathan is terrified when he later sees Dracula scaling down the walls of his castle.

DRACULA LIVES! #7 (3rd story)

SYNOPSIS:
When Dracula stopped his brides from feasting on Harker, Jonathan finally wrote the letters to his boss. He tries to sneak an extra letter out to warn his boss that he’s being held captive, but Dracula intercepts it.

DRACULA LIVES! #8 (3rd story)

SYNOPSIS:
When Harker demands to be let free of Castle Dracula, the Count opens the door but a pack of wild wolves are growling outside. Jonathan decides to stay. Later, Jonathan finds Dracula in his coffin. He hit the Count with a shovel, but it has no effect.

DRACULA LIVES! #10 (2nd story)

FLASHBACK:
Giant slut Lucy Westenra turns down marriage proposals from two different suitors.
SYNOPSIS:
Mina Murray is worried about her missing man Jonathan Harker, so her friend Lucy tries to lighten the mood by telling stories of her slutty escapades. Meanwhile, Dracula travels to England by boat and kills the crew.

DRACULA LIVES! #11 (2nd story)

FLASHBACK:
Jonathan Harker recovers from his ordeal in an inn and sends a letter to Mina.
SYNOPSIS:
Rattled by reports of a boat full of dead people arrive at the docks, Mina and Lucy return home. Later, Lucy is seduced by Dracula. Later, Mina gets a letter from Jonathan. Lucy begins to feel ill. Elsewhere, one of Lucy’s old boyfriends Dr. Seward checks in on one of his mental patients Renfield.

LEGION OF MONSTERS #1 (4th story)

FLASHBACK:
Jonathan returns and marries Mina.
SYNOPSIS:
Lucy reads a letter from Mina and is examined by Dr. Abraham van Helsing. Within three days her condition worsens, so she gets a blood transfusion from her current fiancée. Unknown to everyone (except possibly van Helsing), Dracula continues to visit her at night, feeding on her blood. Van Helsing puts up garlic, but Lucy’s mother takes it down, unknowingly letting Dracula back in to finish the job.

NEW MATERIAL! (4th story)

APPEARANCES:

SYNOPSIS:
Van Helsing performs surgery on Lucy. Elsewhere, Dracula lets wolves loose from the zoo. Meanwhile, Renfield breaks free and attacks Dr. Seward; Seward’s fine, but Renfield drinks the blood to everyone’s confusion. Van Helsing sends Seward a telegram to make sure he’s at Lucy’s house tonight. Before they arrive, Dracula attacks and kills everyone but Lucy. After van Helsing arrives Lucy turns into a vampire.

NOTE:
Stoker’s Dracula #1 is a collection of stories previously published elsewhere. Stoker’s Dracula #2 collects previously published stories, then has a new story at the end. So the new material is actually the fourth story in this issue. Stoker’s Dracula #3-4 is all-new material. The original intention back in the ‘70s when all of this started was to eventually collect all the chapters (the serialized stories published elsewhere) as if the adaptation was commissioned for a single release, so they presented the various stories as chapters. In Stoker’s Dracula #3-4, the chapter format is still used to keep the collected edition uniform. While there are four chapters in Stoker’s Dracula #3, that doesn’t mean there’s four stories in Stoker’s Dracula #3.

STOKER’S DRACULA #3 (March, 2005)

FLASHBACK:
Dracula moves into his new house in England (1). Renfield lets Dracula into Mina’s house and Dracula kills Renfield (2). Mina gives Jonathan a sleeping potion and Dracula arrives to seduce her again (3).
SYNOPSIS:
Lucy’s funeral is held. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Harker spot Dracula (who now looks younger) walking around town and learn that Lucy is dead. When dead children start appearing with puncture wounds in their necks, van Helsing has to take various steps to convince Dr. Seward, Morris and Holmwood that Lucy isn’t dead, but a vampire. When they’re finally convinced, Luck is staked and decapitated. The group, now including Jonathan, puts a plan together to go after Dracula next. Unfortunately while they’re searching for Dracula’s boxes of earth (or dirt, if you prefer), Dracula begins the process of turning Mina into a vampire. Renfield, mortally wounded by Dracula, warns the group that Mina is in danger as he dies.

STOKER’S DRACULA #4 (May, 2005)

FLASHBACKS:
Dr. Seward and van Helsing deal with Renfield’s corpse (1). Vlad Tepes in action! (2). Dracula gets on a boat to go back to Transylvania (3). During his trip back home, Dracula kills and feeds on some dude (4).
SYNOPSIS:
The group explains things to Mina, then find one of Dracula’s hiding places, but Dracula escapes. They track him back to Transylvania. Mina continues to fall under the influence of Dracula, despite his not being there. As the group travels through Transylvania, they’re attacked by Dracula’s Brides. Van Helsing eventually stakes and decapitates them. They find Dracula’s transport and stake him, and he turns to dust before that can decapitate them. Quncey dies from injuries he sustained in the fight and Mina returns to normal. Seven years later, the group celebrates Quincey Harker’s seventh birthday.

NOTE:
Obviously, Dracula didn’t die here (they never decapitated him), because he goes on to appear in a bunch of other comics set after this point, including the present day.
