FLASHBACK:
Captain America and Hawkeye battle an AIM squad who are robbing the Baxter Building. The squad is stopped, but the Red Skull reveals he’s working with them, beats the tar out of Captain America and tells him he’s Cap’s son.
SYNOPSIS:
Hawkeye meets with Nick Fury and tells him that Captain America found out about the Red Skull.

ULTIMATE AVENGERS #2 (November, 2009)

FLASHBACK:
1945: Captain America visits Gail Richards and they have sexy fun time. Four months later Cap is “dead” and the government convinces Gail that she should give her unborn baby up for adoption. Red Skull grows up in government custody; he’s genetically perfect because he naturally produces the super soldier serum. When he’s 17 years old he murders his way out of custody and cuts off his own face to spite his former handlers.
SYNOPSIS:
Cap realizes SHIELD won’t let him discover the truth about Red Skull, so he goes AWOL. After talking with Reed Richards about what AIM stole, Carol Danvers meets with Nick Fury to ask for help with the Red Skull mess. Meanwhile, Gail and Bucky are put into protective custody. Fury explains that Red Skull is a world class assassin that retired years ago, but came out of retirement for some reason. Meanwhile, Captain America researches Red Skull’s history. Later, Fury calls Tony Stark’s older brother for help.

ULTIMATE AVENGERS #3 (December, 2009)

SYNOPSIS:
War Machine frees some captive soldiers in Afghanistan. Fury and Hawkeye meet with Gregory Stark. In Isreal, Red Wasp stops an assassination attempt on Hillary Clinton. SHIELD finishes cloning the Hulk, but it will retain Banner’s mind. Fury meets someone dressed as Spider-Man, then assembles a team (the previous characters minus the Spider, plus a new Black Widow) to capture Captain America. Later, they find Cap in France and attack.

ULTIMATE AVENGERS #4 (January, 2010)

SYNOPSIS:
Captain America easily defeats Fury’s Avengers, but he allows himself to be captured. Later, Dr. Gregory Stark reveals AIM and the Red Skull stole the schematics for Mr. Fantastic’s Cosmic Cube. Elsewhere, AIM has almost completed the Cube, so Red Skull kills the AIM guys in charge so he can take the Cube for himself.

ULTIMATE AVENGERS #5 (April, 2010)

FLASHBACK:
After Red Skull escaped from the US government, he killed the President to make a point. Red Skull kills a political activist and rapes his widow (later the Red Wasp) for 24 hours.
SYNOPSIS:
The Avengers attack the Red Skull, but the Cosmic Cube has already been completed and he easily fends them off. Meanwhile, Captain America escapes and steals a teleporter jet.

ULTIMATE AVENGERS #6 (June, 2010)

SYNOPSIS:
After Red Skull defeats the Avengers, Captain America arrives in his stolen jet and impales the Red Skull on it. Later, Gail Barnes visits Red Skull in the hospital. Then Red Wasp shoots Red Skull in the face, apparently killing him. Later, Dr. Gregory Stark tells Fury he knows Fury arranged for Red Skull to come out of retirement so Fury would be called back into action. Fury declares he’s going to get his old job back.

NOTE:
We finally get an in-story reference to the first Ultimate Black Widow's surname.
