1. Can I ask why?
Mrs. Uatu and I will be entering the housing market soon. Based on what I'm seeing for slabbed comics on eBay, I believe we could raise enough capital to buy a pretty decent house. Storage space is also an issue.

I've been working on scanning my collection, and I've pretty much got all the sixties stuff on CD. I've found it's much easier to use scans as a reference, as opposed to pulling the actual books.

2. Don't you have some amazing stuff?
As a matter of fact, I do.

That's got to take a ton of time and a lot of computer memory.

That's exactly what I have for the search feature. It would be good to collect all code and create a common mcp code base, like an open source project.

I wouldn't mind if someone could take over or share the responsibility for the search feature, for improvements and updates.

The db strain shouldn't be a problem, there are 50-60 unique visitors per day to the search feature. I pay 25$ per year for chronologygraph.com and I think that that hosting could handle much more load.

another idea for if/when this gets developed -- i've been thinking about the inherent lag between when revisions are suggested and when they get implemented and how it might be possible to get that lag cut down. it would be cool if there was a fixed method for posters here to suggest changes, which would then trigger a vote for the directors. if the directors approved the change, it would get automatically entered into the database. this would save a lot of manual data entry time i think.
