Golden Age question

Post by HalP »

Hi-- I'm a newbie, so I apologize if this is a stupid/obvious question.

Is there any reason why a lot of Golden Age comics aren't listed and aren't on the checklist (aside from the handful that may not be considered canon)?

For example: the Human Torch's chronology excludes most of his Golden Age appearances. The handful of significant ones are in there, but the countless generic Torch stories mostly aren't-- and I'm pretty sure nothing about them defies canon.

I've been plowing through Golden Age comics for my Marvel blog, so if this is just an oversight, I'd like to help fill the gap!

While there are exceptions, most of the absent issues are just down to lack of availability, I believe :)

"Why aren't they on the checklist" is a good question, though...

Probably just no-one scanning through for what needs to be added.

In that case, how do I go about adding Golden Age appearances? Apologies for the newbie question, but so long as I'm reading these anyway, I want to help out!

If you're asking how to go about adding them to the Checklist, just post which Golden Age comics are missing in a new thread on the Checklist forum. If your question is how to get the Golden Age comics into the various character's chronology entries, then yeah, see Michael's link above...

I changed the name, so now it's at http://unabridgedmarvel.tumblr.com . Figured I could still get away with that since it's not widely linked to.
