Where does this come from?

Oh sorry! The whole movable calendar/timeline/thingy. You know, the references in the X-Men: the Hidden Years series as taking place in the '80s, etc.

... and in Marvel: The Lost Generation.
And in Captain America v5 50 is showned the first Avengers Badge of Captain America, signed by Clinton.

The references in Hidden Years and the Lost Generation to FF 1 taking place in the 1980s made sense, since those stories were written in the late 90s. But right now, it makes no sense for FF 1 to have taken place in the 80s- Johnny isn't 39 years old.

You've lost me here. How does this place FF 1 in the 80's?

If anything, Clinton presiding over Cap's first Avengers term would suggest that FF 1 takes place in the early-to-mid 90s according to the current state of the shifting timeline.

Yes, with the latest hints and references to real time (about two years from the the birth of New Avengers to the end of Siege) we have to assume that FF 1 is shifted again on the timeline... I think that by now it's supposed to take place around 16-17 years ago, around 1994.

There's a preview for Iron Man 500 up here that touches on our discussion:
Spoiler:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... disp=table
Tony's age is given as 35. Since Tony is usually written as being at least 22 when he became Iron Man, Marvel seems to think that FF 1 happened 13-14 years ago.
