Issues, scenes or flashbacks set in the Age of Apocalypse?

Post by JephYork »

Okay, so after the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline ended, for years Marvel treated it like a dead timeline. Then in 2005, they revealed that it hadn't been erased after all, and that it was still chugging along out there. After "Uncanny X-Force" returned to the AoA timeline, it got its own series, which is currently ongoing.

I'm trying to draft a list of all comics or scenes or flashbacks, published between X-Men Omega (1995) and Uncanny X-Force #12 (2011), that take place *in* the AoA universe. Can anyone help?

Here's what I've got:

Tales of the AoA #1-2 - both occur in the AoA's past.
X-Man Annual 1996 - Nate and Sugar Man time-travel back to the AoA's past.
X-Man #minus-1 - occurs in the AoA's past.
X-Man #53-54 - the AoA dimension partly breaches into Earth-616.
Blink #1-4 - occur in the AoA's past.
Hulk: Broken Worlds #2 - one short story occurs just after X-Universe #2.
X-Men: Age of Apocalypse one-shot - three stories occur in the past; one occurs right after X-Men Omega.
Exiles #60-61 - the Exiles are sent to the AoA by the "Timebroker."
X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #1-6 - the 2005 sequel miniseries.
Exiles #84 - in a one-page scene, Blink and Sabretooth briefly return home.
Exiles: Days of Then & Now - Wild Child is recruited from the AoA dimension.
X-Men: Endangered Species, chapters 6 and 7 (UXM #489 and X-Factor #22 backups): Flashbacks (new scenes) to the Dark Beast's experiments.

Did I miss anything?

I've probably found one.

In New Mutants (2009) #27 Sugar Man (who wanted to return to AoA in that arc) finally finds his AoA. It's a few panels (with no other AoA characters), where he and Dani Moonstar (616) fight in the AoA. Sunspot fires through the portal to take Sugar Man out. Then Dani Moonstar grabs the unconscious Sugar Man and drags him back through the portal to 616.

It's not much, but IMO this fight takes place in the AoA.

In Gambit 24, the New Sun explains to Gambit how he travelled to the Age of Apocalypse right before it was destroyed. This explains why Fontanelle saw images of the Age of Apocalypse in his dreams in Gambit 5.

What If? v2 no.81 "The Age of Apocalypse had not ended" may be of interest to you.

Isn't this an alternate reality? And not Earth 295? Can't find my OHOTMU's right now, but I believe it's Earth 9601.

Jeph, are you also interested in alternate realities diverged from AoA?

Sort of, but I'm much more interested in finding actual scenes set in the AoA itself.

I have What If? v2 #77, #81, and What If: X-Men: Age of Apocalypse as relevant alternate-AoA stories.

I don't have the issue by hand right now, but isn't there a flashback (to AoA-295)in EXILES v1 #1? The one where Blink falls through the cracks into the desert.

IF I'm able to find the issue, I'll check.

This is just a quick question.

If a handbook assigns an Earth number to a said story because of current evidence at the time and later we learn said Earth actually continued, would that be changeable, due to the latest evidence?

I didn't look at the issue to hard, so I'm not arguing placement, but in the said What If? v2 #81 there was no divergence. I think it just took place 2 years later. Just curious.

Confirmed. There's a flashback to Blink's life prior to Exiles #1. In it, we see Blink as a child, being led away from her home in chains, a prisoner of Mr. Sinister. We then see Sabretooth freeing her from her prison cell. We then see her standing alongside the other X-Men from the AoA world, having joined that team. Then there's a panel of Magneto fighting Apocalypse right before the AoA world "ended", a scene which has probably been shown before.
Keeping track of Bendis References since 2001!

Ah, good catch! Those early scenes are new. Thanks!

Can anyone think of anything else?
