Marvel just held a panel at SXSW regarding their digital publishing initiatives... of particular note to those of us here is that Marvel's digital-only Infinite Comics line is going weekly as of July 19, with a new issue dropping every week. The first Infinite series will be "Wolverine: Japan's Most Wanted."
Other highlights that may or may not be interesting to the MCP community:
--Digital copies of 700 #1 comics to be offered free download-to-own on Marvel's digital store and Comixology till Tuesday (already reports are coming in of Comixology having server overload).
--Announced: Project Gamma, wherein audio (including "adaptive, non-repetitive" background music, paced with the panels as the reader reads them) will be integrated into Marvel digital comics, will debut "later in 2013"
--Announced: Marvel Original Video, an online TV channel and expansion of their online video programming, featuring a new web series called "Earth's Mightiest Show" (hosted by ex-G4 comics guru Blair Butler), plus new reality and behind-the-scenes programming, What The--?! spoof videos, etc.

Re: Marvel's SXSW Presentation
Have others here gone digital? Am I the only one holding out? The format is great but I can't deal with the fact that you're tied to the Comixology app, and further that because of the DRM you're tied to Comixology in general. The thought of amassing years of digital comics, only to lose them because the corporate winds blow in a different direction, is appalling.

Re: Marvel's SXSW Presentation
Marvel Unlimited's about the only means I read comics through now, primarily due to financial reasons. $60 a year's much more doable that than much or more a month.
