Moon Knight 1994-1998 appearances

Post by JephYork »

Why do we have Sensational She-Hulk #58, Starblast #1 and MCP #152/4-154/4 placed between Marc Spector: Moon Knight #60 and Moon Knight v4 #1?

Moon Knight died in Spector #60, and was resurrected in v4 #1. He shouldn't be appearing anywhere in between.

I don't own She-Hulk #58, but I checked the others and they're standard-issue appearances -- nothing supernatural about them and nobody acting like MK is supposed to be dead.

For what it's worth, here's when the various comics in question were published:

MOON KNIGHT/MARC SPECTOR/"STEVEN GRANT"/"JAKE LOCKLEY"

IC 6 (November 1993)
MK3 58 (January 1994)
MK3 59 (February 1994)
MK3 60 (March 1994)
S-H2 58 (December 1993)
STARBLAST 1 (January 1994)
M/CP 152/4 (April 1994)
M/CP 153/4 (May 1994)
M/CP 154/4 (May 1994)
MK4 1 (January 1998)

MK3 57 was an Infinity Crusade tie-in issue. Does that have anything to do with it? Does MK3 58 pick up right at the end of Infinity Crusade or something?

The Moon Knight appearance in S-H2 58 is simply MK in his Jake Lockley cab driver guise dropping off She-Hulk to pay her electric bill. On page 7, the She-Hulk is seen paying a cab driver. He says to her, "And give my regards to the Avengers, huh?" The She-Hulk replies, "Yeah, sure, Lockley. Keep the change." End of Moon Knight appearance.

Paul B. tells me that MK3 58 does pick up directly from the end of IC 6.

So what we're looking for is a break somewhere in MK3 58, 59 or 60 to accomodate Moon Knight's appearances in S-H2 58, STARBLAST 1 and M/CP 152/4-154/4.

Can anyone who has MK3 58-60 find a possible gap?

Progress!

Paul B. tells me that Moon Knight is teleported away to another dimension at the end of Infinity Crusade and stays there until MK3 60. He's back for about an hour before he's killed in MK3 60. There is a cutaway scene in MK3 60 (between pages 8-9) while Moon Knight is back that lasts maybe an hour where Moon Knight could conceivably make a quick appearance somewhere else.

Starblast has to take place after Infinity Crusade, and Moon Knight's appearance in Starblast #1 lasts maybe a few minutes.

She-Hulk #58 is currently placed after Infinity Crusade for She-Hulk and Electro, but there's nothing in the story that says it has to be after Infinity Crusade. Also, S-H2 58 is a standalone story that doesn't continue into S-H2 59. I'll say this has to be before Infinity Crusade because of Moon Knight.

M/CP 152/4-154/4 is another standalone story that doesn't have to be after Infinity Crusade. Also, Marlene appears in M/CP 152/4-154/4.

So here's where we're at so far:

ALRAUNE, MARLENE

Where's a good spot to put S-H2 58 & M/CP 152/4-154/4? Where is there a break in MK3 44-56?

A little more digging tells us that MK3 52-56 are a continuous story that only lasts a few days and runs right into Infinity Crusade, and MK3 51 is a standalone story. So:
