SYNOSIS:
Yikes. So, instead of the X Men (no hyphen in this world) being mutants with powers, the next stage in human evolution in this world is to be sociopaths; therefore, the X Men are all sociopaths. Also, some of the police, rich people, criminals, etc. So basically, every character in this mini is a miserable asshole except for the Angel. Of course, the Angel can’t just be a swell guy, he has to have a twin brother and they were raised in a prison (I know, this mini is full of smiles and rainbows). It was nice seeing Angel (the Halloway one), though.

Most of the characters die, most killed by each other. Jean Grey murdered Anne-Marie and disguised the corpse as Jean Grey, then she disguised herself as Anne-Marie so she could get away with it. She’s found out and killed, of course.

I’ve already read through this mini three times to make sure I got all the characters and their names (some of which aren’t even given names or full names until the next mini), but I really don’t feel like reading it again to do a full-ish synopsis, it’s just too damn depressing. Sorry.

Oh, there’s also a text feature in the back of each issue. A sci-fi pulp adventure written by Bolivar Trask. That was pretty fun, actually.

The Lady Dorma explodes! Tony wakes up on a blimp to find that Jarvis is recharging his heart. Tony talks with James, who reveals that he's quitting because Tony has been too reckless lately. Tony convinces him to go on one last adventure to rescue Pepper from the Nazis. The three formulate a plan to storm the Nazi stronghold Castle Donar using battle armor. Jarvis then gives Tony's heart an extra charge, but he'll only have a little over four hours before the charge is gone. Meanwhile, Pepper is tortured for information by Gialetta. When she doesn't talk, Baron Strucker shows Pepper what happened to the castle's previous owner. All that's left is a skull, and he tried to fight off the Nazis with a hammer. Both wearing battle armor, Tony and James storm Castle Donar, quickly making their way to Pepper. Tony is surprised when they're attacked in turn by a giant robot, which Tony recognizes as his father's Arsenal design. When the Arsenal robot defeats Tony, Dr. Zemo reveals himself to be Howard Stark, Tony's father.

SYNOPSIS:
Tony tries to fight the Arsenal robot, but it's too strong. Baron Strucker reveals that there's never been a Dr. Heinrich Zemo, the alias has always been used by brainwashed agents, and Howard is the most recent Zemo. Enraged, Tony overpowers the Arsenal robot and saves Pepper. Now free, Pepper punches Gialetta. Tony, James and Pepper then make their way out of Castle Donar when Tony transforms his battle armor into a mini tank. They escape by driving off a cliff and are caught by Jarvis driving the blimp. With Pepper and James safe, Tony flies off to attack the pursuing Nazis, despite his heart only having a nine percent charge. He smashes his way into Baron Strucker's blimp only to find an army of Arsenal robots guarding the Orichalcum trident. The Arsenal robots overpower Tony, but he's able to grab the trident and send a charge through it, causing an electrical surge that destroys all the Nazi blimps. Crashing into the ocean, Tony is retrieved by Captain Namor. Later, Tony addresses reporters in the Stark M. hospital, and announces his retirement as an adventurer. When the reporters leave, Tony tells his friends that General Nick Fury called, and Tony may just work for the government, instead of adventuring.
