If you were writing your own comic.....

If you were writing your own comic and could choose a team of 8 characters, who would they be?

Also who would the villians gallery consist of to oppose your group?

Mine would be:

Moon Knight
Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)
Ms. Marvel
NightHawk
Union Jack
Son of Satan
Captain Mar-Vell
Puck

If it was an X-Men type team they would be:

Arcangel
Shadowcat
Mimic
X-23
Thunderbird
Magik
Wind dancer
Wallflower

I'd invent 8 new characters, introduce 8 new villains, and prepare for cancellation in 8 issues.

I'd reunite the "Fall of the Mutants"-era X-Men, a team for whom I have great affection (I went from "into comics" to "reeeeeally into comics" around FotM and must've reread that story about a million times as a kid):

Storm
Wolverine
Colossus
Rogue
Havok
Dazzler
Psylocke
Longshot

Human Torch
Iceman
Captain Britain
Joe Fixit
Hercules
Nightcrawler
John the Skrull
Wasp

A nice spread of powers and personalities I reckon, and being an imaginary team I didn't have to include Wolverine :D

It's kind of sad. It seemed like they were together for such a short time. They formed shortly after the Mutant Massacre and not long after Inferno they went through the Seige Perilous and never rejoined. I first started collecting comics with X-Factor right before Fall of the Mutants so when the Inferno crossover began, that was when I was introduced to that X-Men team too (and the New Mutants through the X-Terminators mini).

I always thought of forming a psychic mutant team with:

Karma- she works on developing a lighter touch so she can read minds as well as possess them (in the New Mutants Graphic Novel when Xavier tests her he says she has the potential to be as powerful as him)
Empath
Justice/Marvel Boy/whatever he goes by now
Vanisher- (slightly reformed/kept in check by Karma) who begins to be able to open teleportals too or a new teleporter character
Tarot (without her cheezy magic tarot cards, man was that a lame idea!) or a new precog character, maybe a granddaughter of Madame Web from Spider-Man, who could also do "psychometry" (the ability to read the past of objects/places)
A new character who could "distance view", and project her senses far from her body

I remember an issue of Wizard Magazine where they composed the ultimate superhero team.

Superman
Captain America
Iron Man
Nightcrawler
Phoenix
the Invisible Woman
Doctor Fate

I like this team, but I would switch Superman for Captain Marvel and Captain America for Batman.
