Re: Thor Celestial Saga/Origin of Odin
Thanks for linking to that thread - I did a search for "celestial saga" and didn't come across anything. OK so skimming that thread it places the sequence of events right before the Nibelung saga, but I'm still confused about Aske and Embla. Were those tales "real"? When were the...

Thor Celestial Saga/Origin of Odin
Just finished reading the "Celestial Saga" in Thor 293-301. All the stuff out of the Ring of the Nibelung myths, has that ever been referenced again? It's just so out of the blue, I feel like it should be an alternate reality tale or something. Also according to that arc the origin of Surt...

Re:
1) characters age in real time. They would all be beyond retirement age by now. 2) Their adventures take place in their original era. Few readers would want to read superheroes in the 70s (I would but that's the era of my youth). Superheroes aren't historical fiction but fantasy. These would both m...

Re: Recent article about the Sliding Timescale
I hate the sliding timescale. In my mind it doesn't exist. When I read a comic from the 70s I see stories about Vietnam, Ford and Nixon, these characters sometimes affect plotlines based on their specific personalities, so it's not so easy to just cut and paste a prez from 10 years ago today. Henry ...

Re: Recent article about the Sliding Timescale
So I'm reading Marvel 2-in-1 27 where the Thing and the Impossible Man save the life of President Jimmy Carter. Now, if it is now in retconned Marvel Time and Ben and Impy saved GW Bush...I just don't see that being as good...(in a comic sense!)

Re: Recent article about the Sliding Timescale
Just stumbled onto this page: http://marvel.wikia.com/Marvel_Time This part is interesting: Magneto's ties to WW2 are unbreakable. There hasn't been another tragedy of the same nature perpetuated on such a scale since (and hopefully never will be). Disconnecting Magneto from WW2 would take all the p...

Re: My new Timeline Chronology Project
Thanks, and I just put up 1975, which was a really kind of a pain because of sooo many horror magazines...thankfully they were all cancelled by years end!
If you read the posts starting from 1961 and going year by year I hope it feels like an outline for an epic novel....

Re: Rama-Tut-Kang-Immortus in FF 8 (2013)
So Deadpool was really a herald of Galactus for a day? I think that was the last ish, #6?Col_Fury wrote:Don't worry, djmomo17! Both FF and Deadpool Team-up are canon!

Re: Rama-Tut-Kang-Immortus in FF 8 (2013)
I really, really enjoy the Fraction/Allred FF as a "comic reader", but as an FF fan, it's kind of weird and most likely will not be canon any more than say "Deadpool Team Up". Love reading it tho.

Re: Secret Origin of Tony Stark
Paging thru one of the recent SHIELD miniseries it has Howard Stark and Nathaniel Richards as early agents of the SHIELD brotherhood alongside Galileo and other historical types. I'm never sure if these kinds of minis are Earth 616 canon or a 1602-type alt reality.

Re: Recent article about the Sliding Timescale
I recently picked up some of the latest "OHOTMU" and they have specific years in there. Or at least I recall I saw 1961 for some event, I think related to Dr Strange. I will have to check if that have "Death of Jean Grey (1st time) in the 80's or what....

My new Timeline Chronology Project
Hi! 1st post, but longtime admirer. I've recently started a "condensed" timeline chronology of the Marvel Universe. It will mostly chart 1st appearances, deaths, team changes, universe shaking events, great battles, stuff like that. I guess whatever I think is "important" to the ...
