Re: the TWELVE 8
The flashback for Black Widow's origin occurs in 1928 according to her sister's gravestone (1910-1928). I believe this may actually make Black Widow the first costumed superhero of the 20th century. Anyone know any earlier ones? 1) A flashback in "Inhumans" vol. 3 #8 (July, 1999) has Trit...

Scorpion (voiceover): "Imagine it's nineteen forty-five [emphasis added] and you're one of the richest men on the planet. You got everything you ever wanted. Girls, money, power, you're living the American dream and all the little worker-bees are working round the clock to keep you there."...

3/ Black Widow (Claire Voyant) appeared postwar in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #9 (and possibly mentioned as "a little old widow named Claire" in Marvel Tarot), but has reappeared in Twelve #1. Isn't the appearance in Marvel Knights just a minor flashback? Are we certain it takes place aft...

The Orb keeps referring to himself as the ‘All-New Orb’ and mentions his ‘All-New Repulsor Ray’. This could mean he is a new Orb, or he’s just upgraded. The last Orb is assumed dead as of Solo Avengers 21, but the Orb appeared later in the Deadline mini. Is this the same Orb, meaning Drake Shannon?...

The Giganto I meant is the Atlantean one -- it looks like a giant whale. Here's a pic from SMWGP for you to confirm that this is, in fact, that Giganto: http://spiderman.whiskeyclone.net/temp/giganto.png Yep, close enough to the creature in Fantastic Four #4. Perhaps close enough to give Namor a be...

- The biggest problem by far is how Caabash fits in with Maxie Shiffman (and wrestling boss Bobby from TW 14). Here's how I see it (and note that I haven't read any of the more modern stories featuring Maxie): Maxie and Monty Caabash are clearly supposed to be different characters. Maxie introduces...

At a Bugle meeting, JJJ gets angry about Spider-Man and assigns a reporter named Benny to get dirt on Spidey. An unnamed employee mentions that The Fantastic Four "just saved the city from the Mole Man". Spider-fan.org suggests that "Benny" could be an early appearance by Ben Ur...

That this mini-series does not even mention Maxie Shiffman is quite a problem. Since you aren't familiar with his side of the origin story, the following is a brief summary of his depictions. In "Amazing Fantasy" vol. 1 #15 (August, 1962), Maxie is a "booking agent" who happened ...

You mention a wrestler called the Bronx Mangler. There are three wrestling-related character by the codename "the Mangler". Wonder if this could be one of them in their younger days. *The first is a Daredevil foe depicted in "Daredevil" vol. 1 #22-23 (November - December, 1966), ...

Hill was meant to have just started in the lead job in her first published appearance (NewAv #3, give or take an issue). And Fury was there conducting traffic on SHIELD's behalf during Disassembled. (And the chronology you put down on the 5th of Aug also had Secret War just before the Raft breakout...

Medusa appears here sometime before FF 44. I don't know the FF stories well I'm afraid. She describes that the Wizard had used a mind control device on the Thing in the Frightful 4's last encounter with the FF. She manages to escape at the end of that story in one of the Wizard's (damaged) flying s...

"the Orb(!)".
Wonder if they will explain his apparent return from the dead. Orb/Drake Shannon was gunned down by Plantman simulacra in "Solo Avengers" #21 (August, 1989). Hawkeye declared him as deceased. However he made a curious cameo in "Deadline" #2 (July, 2002).

Marvel Spotlight #5 (Ghost Rider/Blaze's origin & first appearance) was cover-dated August 1972. UX 66, the last pre-reprint UX issue, was dated March 1970. Could this take place between UX 94 & 99? (when Jean wasn't with the X-Men) Certainly, if GR is around, it would appear to be between ...
