Re: Spider-Man Family Vol. 2 7

Ngh-ngh. He's been the Looter every time DeZago's used him, starting in the 90s Sensational Spider-Man series. [This issue made it the *third time in a row* he's ended a Looter story with a '"Huh? This isn't rock. It's--" "HAND IT OVER!"' moment over one or the other of his meteors. This time, I co...

Spider-Man Family Vol. 2 7

There seem to be analyses for every issue of this book except 7. Perhaps my searching skills are just letting me down, but I think this was needed. Story 1: Looter's Quest Plot: Karl Kesel, Todd Dezago, Mark Waid Basically a series of wacky adventures while the Looter looks for the twin of his meteo...

Re: Spider-Man vs. The Hulk: The Battle of the Century!

Spidey has plenty of openings in his "social calendar" before dropping out of school in ASM 243. There's plenty of room to fit in a new gal pal if you assume the classes are for his graduate program. By issue 195 he has broken up with MJ and dissed Betty Brant. He goes on a few dates w/ Cissy Ironw...

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man & The Incredible Hulk Toiler Paper

it occurs to me that this would work really well if it was placed soon (immediately?) after battle of the century , which i also just posted about. they were both released at approximately the same time, the demonstration in this would give motivation for banner to be at ESU in battle of the century...

That's interesting. Her name doesn't appear anywhere that I can see. I had assumed Michael Higgins was the artist.

Spider-Man vs. The Hulk: The Battle of the Century!

This is a promo issue that was given out with the Columbus Dispatch in 1979. If you don't count such things as canon, feel free to ignore this. If you are interested, read on... Chaos on Campus! Originally published: 1979 Characters: Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Dr. Robert Bruce Banner (Hulk) A little...

The Amazing Spider-Man & The Incredible Hulk Toiler Paper

I know some of you might not consider this comic canon because of its unusual method of distribution (toilet paper), but I figured others might still be interested in an analysis. I've noticed that Paul B. has put some other promotional comics in his calendar, so maybe he'll be interested in doing t...

Spider-Man Magazine 2

There's a two-page "Write Your Own Spider-Man Story!" spread in Spider-Man Magazine v3 2 (this one: http://spiderfan.org/comics/title/spiderman_magazine_v3.html). The pages have original art that make up a short Spidey story, but empty speech balloons. Should the art here be considered canon? It's b...

Re: Graphical Chronology

another idea for if/when this gets developed -- i've been thinking about the inherent lag between when revisions are suggested and when they get implemented and how it might be possible to get that lag cut down. it would be cool if there was a fixed method for posters here to suggest changes, which ...

Re: Uncanny Origins!

i recently read UO 10 with the black cat and decided it couldn't be canon. i can't remember exactly why, but the number of problems seemed insurmountable at the time. it seemed more like an updated retelling, rather than any attempt to augment the initial black cat origin story.

Re: Spider-Man: With Great Power... 1-5

Good call on the Monster from Mars, I'd say that's definitely it. We can chalk the colouring difference up to artistic license/mistake. Even though Enda is most likely correct about the real-world reason the Mole man mistake is in there, don't we have to come up with a believable enough in-world rea...

Re: Spider-Man: With Great Power... 1-5

Bobby from TW14 is problematic because he would have to be working at the same time as Monty Caabash. The fight with Hogan that ruins Bobby is shown in SMWGP 1, and it is made clear that Monty is in charge of the league that put on this competition. That's why I think Bobby must be some kind of mana...

Re: Spider-Man: With Great Power... 1-5

thanks for the response dimadick! about the mangler - in this story he is white and heavily tattooed in his shoulder/neck/head area with "tribal"-style tattoos. he has a shaved head. sounds like it could be the third mangler you mentiond, but as i said, some of the characters in this book got redesi...
