Re: James Bond

Wasn't Shang-Chi supporting character Clive Reston supposed to be the son of James Bond? It was always discussed obliquely, without mentioning Bond's name, but the implication was clear. This doesn't affect any of the chronology discussion so far, since Reston's father never appeared, but it does he...

Re: Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk (1981)

It is never stated how closely related Billy is to Peter, so they might be second or third cousins. They'd have to be. It's well established that Peter's father Richard had only one sibling (Ben), and Ben is childless. It's (a little less solidly) established that Peter's mother Mary was an only ch...

Re: Exclusive Collector's Edition: Spider-Man (1980)

It should also go during the period where Spider-Woman is trying to be a bounty hunter instead of a traditional super-hero. That began in SW 21 and went thru SW 35.

Re: Mother Teresa of Calcutta #1 (1984)

But bringing this back to the Mother Teresa and Pope JPII comics, those are just as fictional as the stories in Man Comics or Ideal. The main character in the Mother Teresa issue is a fictional reporter who travels around to various places she had lived, trying to piece together her history. While ...

This is a good argument for excluding them. The are non-fiction, so including them in the fictional Marvel Universe is weird, and sort of disrespectful to the creators.

Re: X-Men: Grand Design v1 #1

I was going to ask somewhere if Grand Design was canon (or intended to be new, post-Secret Wars canon). I haven't read it yet, but this review suggests it can't be canon, because it (by design) doesn't care about anything published after 1991 or so, and therefore is removing setup for stories after ...

Re: and then… CONAN

This surprises me too, as Marvel has generally been out of the business of publishing licensed comics for a while now (Star Wars and Disney don't count, given the corporate relationships).

Re: Mother Teresa of Calcutta #1 (1984)

NOTE: No one in the audience when Mother Teresa accepts the Nobel Peace Prize is named, but I would bet some more historical figures could be added as being off-panel if one wanted to do the research. Adding people who are behind the scenes at historical events seems like a bad precedent to start.....

USA COMICS #5 (Summer 1942) 5th Story : By ??? This Blue Blade story is already in the MCP. The TWELVE series retconned the Blue Blade into an actor, which means this adventure is likely just a serial picture (or something). That makes a lot more sense than a guy with a cape and no shirt riding his...

Moon Knight in Japan

Just learned that there were some original Moon Knight stories produced in Japan in 1979-80. Don't know if they are Earth-616 or not.

Re: Deadpool: Back in Black #1-5

In the publicity leading up to the Star Comics launch (i'm pretty sure in Marvel Age , maybe in other places too), Marvel was quite clear that the various Star comics were not set in the main Marvel Universe (Earth-616) -- except for one, which they were not naming yet. And they never did name that ...

Re: Question about several comic books

Hello. Can you tel me, are those comics really considered canon for Earth-616? In which handbooks they were mentioned? Marvel Classics Comics #1, 3, 4, 11, 12, 16, 28, 30, 34, 36 Personally, I don't think Marvel Classics Comics #1, 3, 4, 11 & 12 should be considered canon. They are reprints of ...
